JONAH!
He's been with us for a couple of days already as a trial live-in and he's now here to stay. He's a mini-schnauzer, 7 months old. Energetic little bas , but he's smart and eager to please so he's already learning to be less of a psychopath around the house. He's very friendly and eager to play with anything that moves, but he doesn't seem to have very good taste in playmates. We've already had a few instances where he's energetically approached other dogs and nearly gotten eaten for his troubles, once with an asshole of a poodle at Petsmart and another with a German Shepherd in our complex that was raised to be a guard dog. For better or worse, the little guy has no fear and I had to drag him away while he was pulling with all his might to get at these dogs that are four times his size.
Our cat is slowly warming to the idea of this thing being in the house. He lived with a dog before but that was as a kitten. At 14 years old we kind of figured that learning to live with something new wouldn't come easily, but after less than a week they've gone from hissing and barking to being able to be in the same room with each other, albeit on opposite ends of the room.

He's a rude little puppy, and very confident in his cuteness. He thinks every person loves him and every dog is his friend. We are working on training him not to jump, and he's already begun self correcting (we won't touch him until he gets down and sits quietly - then we allow him to greet us, feet on the floor). Next step is keeping him from approaching strangers (dogs, cats, and people) until he has permission. That's going to take awhile, I think. But he's extremely intelligent, and very loving.
I'm a total sucker for him, and I don't even like dogs. Also - a good weight loss tool, since he needs so much exercise to tire him out.
