Let the excuses begin.
Mavs' George hospitalizedAssociated Press
DALLAS - New Mavericks swingman Devean George was hospitalized Tuesday with a stomach ailment that could knock him out of the opener.
"We think it's a food deal, but he's had this problem before," coach Avery Johnson said. "Now it's kind of come back again, and this time it's even worse than the first time. So we'll have to evaluate it."
George left the Lakers to sign with Dallas as a free agent in the offseason.
Dallas opens Thursday night at home against San Antonio.
The Mavericks also announced they'll play at least the first two weeks without third-string center D.J. Mbenga, who strained a tendon in his left foot Monday.
I didn't realize you were the article guru. I'll leave it to you next time![]()
I've only been with SpursTalk for a few months. I think I have to be here for a couple years to be considered a guru. But I don't mind the compe ion.

Is Parker playing thursday?
I dunno. Something tells me it'd take Eva tying him down to keep him from playing Thursday.
Well if he doesn't,
I'm just giving back what some fans gave in the Parker thread.
Simma down.
What a surprise, Devean George (a.k.a. "Gump") bailing on his team already.
I don't think so but Beno is going to show you his Beno & Cheese move
This sounds like a potential positive thing to befall the Mavs.
Now Dallas has an actual chance to win this game.
There goes the heart and soul of that team...![]()
Actually he shot pretty well in the preseason game and would've probably gotten some blow tomorrow, but we'll see.
Either way, anything is up for an excuse on either side of the ball... the excuse could be the ball itself.
yeah, parker's a ... george actually had to go to the hospital not like parker, sitting down ing about a sore ankle.
