How does he feel about Jews? They don't believe in .
Oh, oh, it's John Hagee. This can't be good...
I Condemn YOU!!
UPISAN ANTONIO, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry has drawn criticism from rival candidates for saying he agrees non-Christians are condemned to spend eternity in .
Perry was among some 60 mostly Republican candidates for Tuesday's midterm election attending a Sunday service at San Antonio's Cornerstone Church, where pastor John Hagee said in his sermon non-Christians were "going straight to with a non-stop ticket," The Dallas Morning News reported.
Afterward, Perry told reporters there was nothing in the sermon he could disagree with, prompting quick condemnations from opponents.
"He doesn't think very differently from the Taliban, does he?" said independent candidate Kinky Friedman. "Being obsessed with who's going to heaven and who's going to is kind of a pathetic waste of time."
YIPES!!
How does he feel about Jews? They don't believe in .
OK, then....
CNNScandal-hit evangelical pastor Ted Haggard in a letter to his congregation confesses to a "lifelong" sexual problem.
Actually, it's not John Hagee who says unbelievers are condemned to - it's God himself! Hagee is just the messanger
Not a chance that Rick Perry and his fellow condemners would condemn Ted Haggard, right?
CNNCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (CNN) -- As evangelical Christians absorbed the news of the Rev. Ted Haggard's admission he bought methamphetamine -- but did not take the drug -- his church reeled with shock and heartache.
Haggard has led the 14,000-member New Life Church for 21 years.
"The response in our church is sadness and surprise," said the Rev. Rob Brendle, an associate pastor at New Life.
But, Brendle added, "We believe in him and we stand with him."
I thought not.
The bible also says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9
Haggard has confessed to his pastor, his wife, and God, and he's been removed from the leadership of the church. Not one person has condoned his behavior - what more should be done?
The Bible also says, "Do Not Kill".
Sin now, repent later. Got it.
Bush kinda ed THAT one up, didn't he?
As for Haggard, I saw this happening. He will admit more, and finally everything, go into christian "gay rehab", get "cured", and be out preaching again in no time.
Playing the "I-am-sinner" card is so damn easy. Sorta like "money from home".
Haggard admits his problem is life-long, meaning he was born gay, not born straight and chose gay.
Perry is en led to his faith whatever that entails. I simply ask him as I would every politician not to allow the religious faith dictate how they run their office.
I am no Perry supporter but this is such an unfair "gotcha" question. Jews have their beliefs, as do Catholics, as do Muslims, as do Methodists, as do Mormons, etc....
As long as a politician doesn't want to take their particular religion and create theocratic law based on it, let them believe how they want to believe.
"religious faith dictate how they run their office."
A vicious, merciless, self-righteous, self-congratulating, closed-minded, intolerant religious ideology such as "my religion is good, your (non) religion means you're going to " is a good indicator of a person's psychology.
I absolutely don't want that kind of person running a democratic government in a complex, advanced, pluralistic society.
boutons, you mean like the progressives of our country, the dimm-o-craps,
who refuse to let any conservative utter a word on a college campus? Is
that what you mean?
You mean like the ACLU that refuses to let the majority of the Americans
who have traditionally observed Christmas have a display on public property
and people like you that don't want any Christian idea expressed publicly
like: Merry Christmas. Is that what you mean. Yeah, I know how you
feel about the self-righteous crowd.
