I believe we are a "primary" market, but not a "home market"

Myth: Customers might miss a home–team game.
Fact: Our customers will not miss ANY home games. The NFL Network is only carrying eight games‚ and if your local team is playing in one of them, you’ll see that game on a local broadcast station.
Still confusing. Is only Dallas Area market considered a "Local Team"
I believe we are a "primary" market, but not a "home market"
So does that mean we are Screwed?
yep, it means we're screwed. time to go to a sports bar that has NFL network!
i'll be in NY at the time, so i'll be at the ESPN Zone for it.
Big deal, you ing Cowboys' fans don't get to see a game. ing KENS 5 decides the Texans aren't good enough to show on a weekly basis. KENS and the Cowboys.

Today the Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on whether the DirecTV monopoly on Sunday Ticket is anti-consumer and cons utes restraint of trade. Finally, Congress has noticed this issue! TMQ's prediction: The NFL, which seriously does not want Congress rethinking the an rust exemption granted to the league in 1961 over its television contracts, better move pronto to make Sunday Ticket available to all cable carriers. The 1961 agreement with Congress specifies that in exchange for an an rust exemption, the NFL will make its broadcasts available to everyone. Instead, the Sunday Ticket broadcast operates under a monopoly structure. Congress is already in a foul mood about the NCAA's tax-exempt status for profitable D-I football. The new Congress will want to differentiate itself from the last by being pro-consumer. The NFL's television contracts are worth nearly $4 billion a year; the league would be foolish to run any risk with that sum. Roger Goodell, change your deal with DirecTV before Congress changes it for you.
this sounds awesome. i would at least like the option of ordering Sunday Ticket on TWC at some point in the future.
I know what you mean. It sucks. We got to see, what? Cincinnati vs San Diego on Sunday instead of Houston vs Jacksonville? Gah, we're closer to both Houston AND Jacksonville, but nooo, we have to see some northern vs west coast crap.
You know what I think it's totally crap that they don't show the Texan's game down here.
Show both Texas Teams in San Anotnio
Its the Atlanta game that is being blacked out, I guess they dont want us to see Ware end Vicks career
Well unfortunately the market surveys show that kens can make more money showing either another football team or old re runs. If the Texans would stop being ty they would get some more air time.
all I know is that Wali Lundy is better than Reggie Bush, and the NFL is conspiring against the Texans because they dont want the rest of the world to know that the Texans got the real best running back in the draft
addai is better than lundy.
I was joking, I know Addai is better
I wonder if we have been made a secondary market for New Orleans (that is the game we get this weekend before Indy @ Dal)?
wow. down boy.
it's because SA isn't a very market for the Texans, but is huge for the Cowboys.
The Dallas-Atlanta game will only be on broadcast TV in Dallas. Otherwise, everyone else has to watch it on the NFL Network.
No exceptions.

Dallas isn't all that hot themselves, especially 3 or 4 years ago, but they have a bunch of fans who hopped on the bandwagon way back when and still believe the Cowboys will make it to the Super Bowl "this year"
That might be the dumbest assessment of Cowboys fandom I have ever heard. There are way more loyal, diehard fans than bandwagonners. The bandwaggoners have had nothing to cheer about for a decade now. They may get some new ones if they make the playoffs this year but for the most part, these are diehards you find at the games and watching.
San Antonio won't get the Cowboys game thats on the NFL network. If you check the NFL's site and go to the part where they are talking about Time Warner, they specifically mention San Antonio and Austin as outside the home market.
http://www.iwantnflnetwork.com/grtw.html
Time Warner Says:
Our customers will not miss ANY home games.
The truth is:
Fans in Madison, WI consider themselves Packers’ home fans. People in San Antonio and Austin think of their cities as Cowboys Country. If you live in those areas you may miss your teams on NFL Network and you will not get these games on over-the-air television because you live too far from Dallas or Green Bay. And you will also miss games including the Steelers, Seahawks, Giants, Broncos, Chiefs, and more.
Notice the wording from TWC.
But of course, Dallas is playing @ Atlanta.Myth: Customers might miss a home–team game.
Fact: Our customers will not miss ANY home games. The NFL Network is only carrying eight games‚ and if your local team is playing in one of them, you’ll see that game on a local broadcast station.
Mexicans love the Cowboys for whatever reason, so San Antonio and all of south TX is probably thick with Cowboy fans...![]()
Go outside during a cowboys game you can hear the neighbors yelling when the cowboys score
it doesn't matter what neighborhood you live in
