Marcus McNeil is missing. That is some ed up . Dude is by FAR the best rookie O-lineman in the league. LT has been running behind that left side all year long, and McNeil also has given up few sacks to Rivers backside. McNeil is getting screwed for at least not making the list.

Leinart might not get ROY, but will laugh the loudest before his career is over.

I agree, Matt will laugh at how some people actually thought VY would be a WR or RB in the NFL instead of a Super Bowl winning QB.

i agree. its just a popularity contest, usually, anyway. the media picks a horse and then rides it without regard to who might step up later or if the current favorite falls. right now i'd give the rookie of the year award to Hester or Bush. if Bush continues his onslaught then i'd say he's the pick or if Leinart continues to tear it up i might give it to him. i like:

    1. Hester
    2. Bush
    3. Leinart
    4. Drew
    5. vyoung

Do any of you really understand how important the left tackle position is?

...the entire o-line, my friend. and no, nobody that compares vyoung to Leinart understands that.

Ask the Denver Broncos, Lepsis went down, they haven't been the same since.

People understand, its just that no one cares, its not a flashy position

I think that if Marques Colston wouldn't have missed two games (and barely playing in a third), Reggie Bush wouldn't have been the top rookie on his team. That's just speculation, of course, but I'd go Bush / VY / Hester / Jones-Drew / Colston. Not knocking Leinart - he's done a good job the last four games, but he's not ROY material at least in my eyes.

It's tough to argue 80 receptions - for a guy at least listed as a RB - with three games to go. 100 is probably out of the question, but Reggie catching 90 balls isn't.

yep, Bush really has had a great year when you study it. i agree about Colston, i am a Saints fan, but its unfortunate he got injured. my gut says Bush will get ROY if he has a couple more games where he has over 100 yards receiving or does well on the ground. i really don't understand why Leinart has not gotten more pub; i think he has arguably been the best rookie this year. depends, as Bush, on what he does the last few games.

sadly, b/c Leinart is not included in ROY discussions he will almost certainly not win it. thats how this thing works...

    1. Bush won the Heisman and nobody else had a chance b/c of the media
    2. Troy Smith this year
    3. same thing in the NFL
