Next year, very possible. I think the Niners, with a little improvement, will make the playoffs and could challenge for the division. Key word though is Next. This year is still going on. Any team or player or fan worth a wants his or her team to win the championship...to do that you have to first qualify for the post season, you can't have one without the other.

Actually, I saw a lot of talent on that team, I didn't expect them to suck, but I didn't think it would be too unlikely if Alex Smith finally did something and brought the team over the hump.
fillmoe, this is quite possibly your weakest take yet - something along the lines of the niners beat the seahawks twice and you couldn't would have been much better. keep that rather be 7-9 than make the playoffs with a first round exit in mind for next year.
