thoughts: Texas has had a good year thus far with losses only to the #1 team and a shootout with k-state. A&M's year, though improved from last, has still been somewhat of a downer especially in recent weeks with back2back losses @ home by 1 point. most t-sips believe A&M cannot run on their defense...not only will they run on them, but they will run all over them with McGee making timely passes and the defense doing just enough.
prediction:
Texas A&M 27
t.u. 26
The University of Texas 35
The University of Texas at A&M 17
in your dreams, Sami. also, quick question...which school was founded first?
Hey...you have your prediction, I have mine. Don't criticize mine because it differs.
A&M was founded first, 1876 I believe. I think Texas was founded in 1883. Not sure on the dates but I do know Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College was started first.
i criticize yours b/c it is wrong,. and you are right about A&M...
It can't be wrong. Its a prediction and not fact.
Now...if my prediction proves incorrect, I will be here to give the appriopriate credit and I hope other Longhorn fans will follow suit.
My questions is....will Aggie fans do the same if my prediction turns out to be correct.![]()
I've tried to look everywhere, but nothing is telling me McCoy will be 100%, or even starting for that matter. If he starts, Texas will roll. If Snead starts, Texas will still win, but may not cover the 12.5pt spread. On Mack Brown's web site, it shows the depth charts for the game, and it has McCoy as the starter, but I have not been able to verify concretely.
Texas has played tough at home all year. Their only loss was against the #1 team in the country. Even in the loss, if you look at the stats in that game, you'd see they were just about even. Other than that, Texas has POUNDED (with a capital "P") the opposition into the ground at home by 36pts or more (not counting tOSU). Their MOV - including Ohio State - is almost +28 pts. Take out Ohio State and SHSU and their MOV at home is almost +33 pts.
Texas' strength on defenese is against the run. But just as good as their run defense is, their pass defense sucks. However, by far and large, their biggest pass defense blunders have been on the road. At home, they seem like a different animal. They'll allow for the occasional big play, but seem to be more cohesive at home.
TAMU has had the luxary of playing most of their games at home (where they've struggled at times). Interestingly, though, they are 3-0 on the road (against some less formidable opponents, tho). They are a balanced team relying on the run, but can and do throw a good deal of the time. I suspect Franchione will adjust his play calling to include more short-to-mid range passes, screens, and the occasional trick/long pass that seems to give Texas fits. Ifigure they may even score a couple of times doing this.
If this were in College Station, I would predict an upset. We all saw last year how significant home field advantage is in this rivalry. However, I firmly believe Texas takes this game - alot, if McCoy starts, or just enough if he doesn't. I figure he'll start, so I'll take Texas SU and ATS.
Texas 42
A&M 24
I don't know if he is starting but he has been cleared to play.

Thanks samikeyp. With so much riding on this game, I figure if he's cleared to play HE'LL PLAY.
still yet to get an answer to this.My questions is....will Aggie fans do the same if my prediction turns out to be correct.
C'mon Aggie fans, one of the biggest thing at A&M is honor....
Well the situation is this:
The aggies would be happier with a win over UT during a failure season than if they loss to UT on the way to a big twelve le. Its true.
que? why is this ever an issue?
Texas -13 is the latest spread.
good, easy money for me...then.
My prediction:
Whorns 28, Aggies 26
I still want an Aggie win and a Cowboy loss to propel OU into the Conference Championship - It's been too damned long since NU and OU have met up to decide a conference champion.
Because there are people on this board who will talk about their teams but when they are wrong, they disappear like little es.que? why is this ever an issue?
And no, Aggie fan, I am not just talking about you...there are UT fans who do it as well.
My point...if you are going to make a prediction, talk or pimp your team and that team loses, be a man and admit it. Don't go hide like es when your team loses.
I hid after the kstate game cuz i went into a deep dark depression totally independent of this forum
...umm, since you said,"i am not just talking about you," i must ask when have i ever disappeared after a loss?
(hint) the answer is never.
the reference to "Aggie fan" was to Aggie fans in general...not you specifically.
K. btw, A&M is going to beat t.u. on friday.
Its all good
I am glad you are picking the Ags....you picked them the last two weeks.
I know quite a few actual Ags (people who attended the school) as well as those who are just fans and until I moved I watched the game with them every year and as much as it pained them, when UT won...they were sportsman enough to give props and I think most Ags are like that and if the Ags win...I will be among the first to tip my Burnt Orange cap and recognize the better team but my question still stands my friend....if UT pulls out the win, will you do the same?

...you're incorrigible. t.u. has a better team than A&M, but the better team does not always win and they won't this friday....is that clear enough for you?
I agree to a point. I think the team that wins is the better team on that day. If A&M wins, IMO, they will be the better team and as a good sport, I will give the credit where it is due.
Are you saying that if Texas beats A&M, you will not be a good sport?
you're unbelievable....i think what i have stated is pretty clear, is it not?
