    To me even though you only play 7 games in the finals, you have to make it to the finals and then be the best player on the winning team to get the finals MVP.

    I say Finals MVP>Regular season MVP

    I'd agree with that. Besides, the regular season voting is arbitrary where the Finals MVP is pretty clear cut, and it's center stage as opposed to the long regular season.

    I'd be willing to bet that Karl Malone and Steve Nash would happily trade in their regular season MVP honors for one in the Finals since obviously the winner of the award is a member of the championship squad.

    Jerry West is the only loser to win the Finals MVP no? Then again, West had no Regular Season MVPs during his career.. amazingly.

    imo both are BS awards

    you can be the best player and carry ur team into the finals, and you might stink and not show up for it, but ur team wins and you not winning the award.

    regular season mvps, is very inconsistent every year, they always change how they base on merits to award to a player.
