They're about an hour and a half long and there is an intermission at the end of the first movie.

rosario dawson is easily the most overrated streetrat in hollywood. even trashier than eva longoria which says alot. at least longoria is easy on the eyes and trash, as opposed to just being trash.

"Planet Terror" is fantastic the whole way through. "Death Proof" is useless for the first 80% of the movie, but has a fantastic payoff. It's almost as if Tarantino wanted people to get up and leave before it was over (and several people in my theater did.)

Tarantino rules. He is the ultimate film buff and it shows. I don't there is anyone who knows and appreciates cinema like QT.

Robert Rodriguez is a capable director but I don't think he has the vision, charisma, or writing ability of Tarantino.

Not his best work but there were some interesting ideas in both movies. I'm not a huge viewer of asian cinema but I have seen enough to appreciate what he was trying to do. And obviously, Tarantino watched his share.

I thought Vol. 2 was very good and underrated by many people because they were disappointed by Vol. 1.

iI think these suck compared to the old grindhouse movies....

Planet Terror has one of the dumbest heroines ive ever seen, c'mon a freaking go go dancer with a gun for an leg? there was this one part in the trailer where she was walking on it and looked so dumb I burst out laughing....

i am dissapointed that kurt russell got the main part in death proof.....

then again, this movie does look alright so i will give it the BOTD and check it out..

tarantino has written some of the consistently worst dialogue i have ever had the misfortune to hear. what's really odd for how much i dislike what he has become is how much i agree with his all time faves as far as movies. kill bill part 1 had some cool stuff in it, but kill bill 2 outside of the mexican pimp was trash, and i am still a carradine fan from the kung fu series. rodriguez has always been a b movie director.

Rosario Dawson has some of the nicest skin tone/breast size ratios on the planet, have none of you seen Alexander? The violent sex scene with her is absolutely amazing.

BTW, Tarantino is still tight, regardless of kill bill...everyone knows that shoulda been cut down to one movie and all the boring excess deleted...but at the end of the day you're always a to The Man.

I loved the Kill Bills just as they were. With the exception of the tacked on cliffhanger/preview ending to vol. 1, which was a studio thang.

Also think that, despite any issues with style, genre, writing style, etc., both Rodriguez and Tarantino are incredibly gifted when it comes to the technical aspects of making a film. A lot of the criticisms regarding their films come down to personal choice, which is purely subjective and hard to argue, but it's hard to deny the actual talent there.

Also, I did not see Grindhouse tonight. Yes, I'm bitter about it.

Lastly, Rosario Dawson = nasty trash? Craziness.

I've got to argue that Rodriguez just can be mentioned in the same breath as Tarantino. From Dusk till Dawn was a film written by Tarintino, and IMO besides maybe MAYBE The Factory that is his only film that is intriguing enough to actually buy. Rodriguez hasn't done anything close to as great as PULP FICTION, RESERVOIR.., KILL BILL 1 and 2

The Factory... you mean The Faculty?

    From Dusk Till Dawn
, Desperado and even the first Spy Kids were all different, interesting well made movies, but not at the same level as Tarantino's work. Sin City is right up there, though.

Also, the other time they went head-to-head in the same project was in the largely unwatchable Four Rooms -- Rodriguez's segment blew Tarantino's out of the water.
