INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger was taken to a hospital after he fell to the floor in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The nature of his injury was not immediately known. The Pacers said he was awake and responsive and was able to move his arms and legs.

Granger, who scored nine points, hit the floor with 4:38 left in the quarter. He lay face-down for several minutes while medical personnel attended to him. Finally, a stretcher was brought out and he was wheeled off the court

I hate to see this kind of injuries.

One month ago, a french freestyle skier (Sandra Laoura) who won a medal in the last olympic games fall on his back : she still can't move her legs.

    Granger hospitalized after fall

He lay motionless on court after collision with Clippers' Brand in 3rd quarter

    By Mike Wells

The Indiana Pacers suffered a significant scare after small forward Danny Granger lay face down and motionless on the court for several minutes after he was inadvertently hit by Elton Brand after Brand blocked Granger's shot late in the third quarter Sunday.

Granger was strapped to a body board with his head and neck braced and rolled away on a stretcher.

He was taken to Methodist Hospital, where tests done on his neck and head came back negative. He was released from the hospital.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Granger was responsive and he was able to move his arms and legs and he even talked as he was being checked out on the court.

"I just saw that he missed a tip and saw him in a heap on the floor," Carlisle said. "We're hopeful it's nothing serious. He was able to respond and answer questions. We're going to have to cross our fingers and hope he's OK."
Forward Jermaine O'Neal said some teammates would visit Granger on Sunday night.
