he will need a lot of work. he has no offensive moves kind of like Tyrus Thomas
Another Undrafted Rookie FA

How this guy was not drafted is beyond me.![]()

Meh. He's ok. He's got alot to learn to actually play in the NBA.
Whoa...getting a bit ahead of yourself there a bit. Let's see how this translate to the NBA. Not glorified NCAA Basketball.
I would settle for a center who can actually catch the ball when it is thrown to him.
Yeah, because obviously I am sending him straight to the HOF...![]()
If you saw him go for 1-7 against the likes of Anthony Fuqua and Brad Buckman Friday, you'd know why he wasn't drafted.How this guy was not drafted is beyond me.
meh, he was already thinking about getting to vegas, it's no biggie...buckman wouldn't have anything on pops, can he even run anymore with all that weight he's put on?
anyway, the reason he didn't get drafted had more to do with his injury than with his skills...the kid needs to get a bit stronger and put on a bit more muscle and he'll be a very good player to have
That's the thing -- Pops often has problems with guys that match his size and strength and can play a lick of D -- and he's slightly undersized for the NBA. We'll see if he does any better here this Friday. If he was taking the day off looking forward to Vegas, that's even worse. BJ Elder scored 15 points in the first quarter and Loren Woods almost got a double-double in less than 20 minutes and they had to go to Vegas too. I never thought the Flyers would lose a game by 32 points with an NBA on the roster.meh, he was already thinking about getting to vegas, it's no biggie...buckman wouldn't have anything on pops, can he even run anymore with all that weight he's put on?
i agree, he does have size issues, but at least his size problems have to do with muscle/weight, something that can be remedied with a good trainer, he's got the height at 6'9"...after looking at the toros/flyers boxscore he shot poorly but he had a pretty good game in other ways, 7-8 FT shooting (haha!), 7 rebounds (high man), 2 steals, 2 assists and a blocked shot...anyway, is he going to be playing in austin against the toros this friday? for some reason i thought he might have been called up because devean george is out but i could be wrong
High for the Flyers. Buck and Woods had 10.anyway,7 rebounds (high man)He hasn't been recalled yet. If George is going to be out, he could be called up since this is his second stint in the D-League and he can be sent back one more time. He's got potential but he needs to learn some post moves other than knocking his defender out of the box.is he going to be playing in austin against the toros this friday? for some reason i thought he might have been called up because devean george is out but i could be wrong
Brad Buckman????
where is he playing?
Buckman is coming off the bench for the Austin Toros. Kris Clack is playing there too.
noooooooooooo!!! haha, they won't need him anyway, get well soon devean george!!!
Ager=Bruce Bowen with offense
Papa=Poor Mans Elton Brand
that's not the in point. You act as if he did this in the NBA all star game. Let's see he do this against NBA compe ion. Then you can make a thread about this.

..........
(psssst: he did make a thread about it and you posted in it, go ing figure)
I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say with this. I never questioned him making the thread. I only said he is counting his chickens before they hatch with his performance against players trying to play on an NBA team consistently. If he can do this against NBA compe ion, then there would be no problem and I surely would be glad if he does so.
The definition of an excuse is in your first paragraph, Ponky. Now who is the homer?![]()
Papa=Depression mans Elton Brand
i was talking about an nbdl game idiot and thus i was making a joke, both about buckman's weight (i doubt you even know who he is) and about mensah-bonsu... i could care less about an nbdl game between the flyers and the toros, get a clue and try to stay on topic...if you look at the other posts where i actually talk about mensah-bonsu i admit that he has problems with size
I understand where you're coming from but to be fair, nobody really knows how a player will play in the NBA until they actually play in the NBA and yet every year people have to analyze and hope for the best when they pick guys from the draft and there will always be excitement before the guy has even stepped onto the court. It's not like the original poster was calling Mensah-Bonsu the missing link to the Mavericks' quest for the championship, he was merely showing a bit of excitement about a guy who has recently been playing well. You may not have questioned him but you tried to define when he could make a thread about it as if he shouldn't be making threads about this topic. Anyway it doesn't matter, I hope he eventually becomes a contributor because in the end, that's the best thing for all us Mavs fans.
