That a real trade?
I'm listening to Sirius' NBA Radio, so if anything comes across here or if anybody sees anything else, post it here, I guess.
DALLAS trades Anthony Johnson to ATLANTA for a second round draft pick (year not specifically mentioned).
That's what they said.
Why would the Mavs be trying to get rid of him for a 2nd rounder? Seems odd.
Roster spot?
Don't need Johnson. Salary dump, get a decent 2nd round pick in return. Nice trade.
Maybe they are going to try to bring in Pippen.
Here's a thought: Does D-Wade's injury adversely affect the trade thoughts of the East's playoff contenders?
The Nets might now be not so willing to trade Kidd and Carter.
i think its a salary dump and also to free up a roster spot, bc with Mbenga out mavs might be after a back up big man
Stay tuned for my report on Spurs' blockbuster trade.
Today, I wouldn't trust you if you said the sky was blue.
Whatever do you mean?

"Wolf! Don't leave people. I promise there is a wolf."
trade is for a 2007 2nd rounder...
AJ never really "fit" here...
Good move for the Hawks, as Speedy has really been disappointing...
Maybe SPURS get back speedy by trading Jackie and Beno
I would rather throw Jackie Butler to backup Tony than have a broken-down Speedy Claxton.
Not likely...Speedy signed a BIG, long-term deal...one he's clearly not worthy of.
It does beg the question of whether they'll go with 4 pg's though. The Royal Ivey for a future second rounder doesn't sound half bad if the Spurs end up trading Beno....
Yeah, physical problems aside, there's no way that the Spurs would be willing to take on Speedy Claxton's contract -- and that's a smart decision on their part.
i say we throw in butler also and get one of there SFs in return included with the 2nd rounder....
That's what I'm thinking. I think they are gonna try to get PJ Brown or Najera. Anthony Johnson wasn't going to get any playoff minutes anyway. They have JJ Barera (sp?) to use as 3rd point guard. He fits their style better than Johnson did anyway.
Guarantee they don't get rid of any of their SF for anything less than a legitimate immediate contributor at PG or C. I(f you offered a second round pick for Smith/Childress/M. Williams, Knight would laugh in your face, pimp slap you, and tell you to get out of his office...
Hypothetical trade scenario (which won't happen because of ownership dispute and lack of desire to take on more large contracts):
PG Andre Miller for SF M. Williams/Childress
That's the kind of talent the Hawks can get back with ease....
It just came through:
SAN ANTONIO SPURS trade:
FUTURE LE HOPES
for
PAYROLL RELIEF
Dallas may need room to trade one player for two.
