Good move for the unhappy Jones. Better pick up for the Raptors at a good time.

The Portland Trail Blazers and Raptors have agreed in principle on a trade sending Juan Dixon to Toronto for Fred Jones in a swap of backup guards, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported.
Dixon, 28, in his fifth NBA season, is averaging 8.9 points per game for the Blazers. Jones, also in his fifth year, is averaging 7.6 points.

Good on Toronto to shed future salary...Dixon has two or three fewer years on his contract I believe.
Found this nugget in an article (will post link below) that states Jones has agreed to cut his contract short one year, basically making this trade a wash contractually....As part of the trade, Jones has agreed not to exercise the player option year of his contract, meaning his current deal will expire at the end of the 2007-08 season.

So I withdraw my earlier comment....
Still saves the Raptors money because he may not have done the same with them. Plus, his salary is a little lower.
