Why not? Although I wonder how much do Miller or Pippen have left. Remember the Suns did it a few years ago with Kidd when they brought back Kevin Johnson.
a player be signed by a team after the trading deadline or even once the season starts?
I mean this year there is talk about miller and pippen coming back and actually playing. Is that good for the nba?
I mean spurs could do this with david robinson just call him up and let him play 10 games and playoffs every year.....

sure why not? it's a risk no matter who you bring back because you might mess up the chemistry of the team so late in the season and it's not like these older guys are going to get heavy minutes (even d-rob at 41), they are usually signed because of injuries
so since odom is hurt now is it really fair to the other nba teams if the lakers can convince pippen to join them? I am not talking about if pippen can help them out though but is it fair to the other nba teams? I mean hornets went thru a big stretch when they were missing key players because of injuries
I don't really think Pippen will help the Lakers that much. I also don't like being able to sign players very late in the season. But most of the times it doesn't help. If they're good enough to be playing they would have been playing before. And the rules have changed. You can't just put players on the IL.
pippen today is going to be nowhere as effective as odom today (obviously healthy). why wouldn't it be fair? all teams should have a full roster going into the playoffs, that should be the ideal. it doesn't always happen and most teams aren't going to find someone who is playing at the same level as the guy they lost to injury so it's not unfair.
When it's an injury it should be different. Especially if your team has multiple injuries.
so basically it boils down to who has the most money? if someone gets hurt it should be ok for them to buy a player to help them win
even though they have a salary cap in place?
No you can't sign them for whatever you want. Unless you get an exemption. And then you get half of that players salary or something. Not sure about the rules.
right
anyway, close game, lakers/suns!
Please let these 37 seconds go by fast.
Lakers hurting without Odom. But overall very good game. Much better than fridays game.
With Kobe it's never over.
About the Suns/lakers game right now...
That was a bs call on Marion guarding Kobe. Great d
Veteran play by Shammond. Damn he missed one.
oh well, the game started off with amare getting to the line after a foul was called on the lakers after he took five steps, happens
anyway, the lakers have played very well regardless of the outcome, they should be encouraged, they sustained two runs by the suns. suns of course, played well. bof' teams played hard!
Haha they kept the clock running. Cheaters.
heavy minutes by the suns....why is d'antoni shaking his head over 0.4 secs, haha!
The officiating in this game has left alot to be desired. At least the teams played through it.
holy cow, piatkowski got some minutes?!?!?!?!? it must've been when i was taking a quick call earlier. still, too many minutes.
Is over!![]()
I had the same thought and I say no. I think that teams should take care of whatever their business and that whomever they have from the trade deadline on should be their team.
In fact I don't really like the idea of someone coming out of retirement in the middle of a season.
Damn tough game. We almost had them though. Good game.
