I was just discussing last night why that album should have been included on the Rock and Roll HOF's "Definitive 200" list.
RIP Biggie.

I'm not about to re-live the final three hours of work last night, but Will Smith's Big Willie Style is not more definitive that Ready to Die.
True. But I still don't feel it belongs on the list. At least not on this one.
Top Hip-Hop/Rap yes.
That list included a lot from different genres of music that would be exposed to Americans.
(Which was an argument I made last night that I'm certain there's been definitive music not widely exposed to Americans, which renders the list incomplete)

Seriously everyone needs to stop being forum police. If anyone has a problem with any poster, they can PM me. The complaining in threads perpetuates the problem.
Oh and Fillmoe and NorCal, please behave.
'76, actually
77 was 30 years ago.
The Joshua Tree was 20 years ago - 1987.
The Joshua Tree was also not U2's first album... but I assumed T Park was diverging from that to ask a more general question...
I know it wasn't their first album. But I thought he was referencing the poster saying that 20 years ago today The Joshua Tree came out.
I know YOU probably know that... but since T Park asked if U2 started in 1977, and that wasn't 20 years ago (when Joshua Tree came out), and it wasn't their first album (which most people know)... I assumed he wasn't talking about Joshua Tree. C'mon, this is the only time you may ever see me give T Park credit.
What is a U2 and how did it get in a Biggie thread.
