Yesterday morning I was listening to a local station here in Fayetteville, AR and they were talking about how Stan Heath would probably be fired at the end of the season. They then announced that the Razorbacks would hope to land Bill Self or Billy Gillispie. It was like a kid wishing he would get a dinosaur for Christmas.

Yeah, that would be a monumental step down for Self. A&M fans probably don't need to worry unless there is any substance to the talk that Tubby Smith could be forced out.
People here think the U of Arkansas is God's gift to man and that they can get anyone they want, especially with the Walton's (Wal-Mart) endless supply of money. But they forget what a craphole this state is and the fact that other schools have just as much money. No way A&M lets him go based on them offering more money, because I guarantee we can get old Lowry Mays to make a "donation". Kansas may want Self to go after another 1st round tourney loss, so that's a little more realistic.
KU's getting impatient, but he'd still survive a first round loss this year. Especially with the huge talent they have coming back (only Wright is likely to jump).

Why the would Gillespie leave? Even for tons of cash...he has a potential national le team going and probably more chances to come.

Someone needs to point out to the Arkies that Indiana, which has infinitely more college hoops tradition than them, tried to get Billy last year and he wouldn't even return their calls.

1. Indiana has nowhere close to the money Arkansas has.
2. The amount of undo ented money (cause everyone cheats duh) floating around the university will ultimately get them what they want. Walmart, Tyson will make sure of that.
3. Just now spending 20 mil? Arkansas spent around 230 million in the last 10 years on ALL of our facilities. 20 or 230 .. hmmm must keep adding.
The fact is Arkansas can land Bill. AM fans need to understand this is a business and cannot be so arrogant in that he will return just cause of last year or whatever happend in the past.
Ok, we'll just be so arrogant to think that victories will come by spending hundreds of millions of dollars to buy talent.

I'm saying money is not an issue at all. It can and will be refilled if spent. As much of it floats around getting some coaches to get more players to win would make a marketing giant in the area. Arkansas is willing to spend is all they are showing right now.
