Gotta love the new Neocon talking-point attempting to spin, what even Henry Kissinger calls a un-winable situation in Iraq, on the new Democratic legislature...

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Congressional Democrats are undercutting U.S. troops by trying to impose limits on the military in Iraq, Vice President Cheney said in remarks prepared for a fundraising appearance in Alabama on Monday.

"When members of Congress speak not of victory but of time limits, deadlines, or other arbitrary measures, they're telling the enemy to simply watch the clock and wait us out," Cheney said in remarks released by his press office.

"It's time the self-appointed strategists on Capitol Hill understood a very simple concept: You cannot win a war if you tell the enemy you're going to quit," he said.

"It's also clear that we've got enough supporters of the military in Congress to sustain a veto," he said. "And so it is pointless for the Democrats to continue pursuing this legislation."

Never mind that it was Cheney's manipulation of intelligence that got us into Iraq, or that it's been Cheney and Rummy behind Abu Gharib, Gitmo, and extra-ordinary rendition, or U.S. sanctioned kidnapping and torture of anyone they deem a 'enemy combatant', even Americans. Never-mind that Rummy didn't send in enough heavy armour or troops to secure weapons sites in Iraq like Al-Qa Qa, weapons which are now being used in IED on American and coalition troops.

It's all the Democratic quiters fault we're gonna lose in Iraq.
