There's definitely something honorable about not wanting to jump ship on a team you've been with for your entire career...but he really needs to stop being so nice and start having some prima donna hissy fits and storms to get that front office serious about winning. I'm not saying he should get too ridiculous and arrogant, but he is a top-5 player in the league and behaves like he's the ninth man on the team's depth chart.
Enough of this feeling sorry for KG crap. He's part of the problem that plagues the Wolves. By that, I mean his $20 million salary makes it difficult to move him and it makes it difficult for the team to acquire talent to build around him. Secondly, Garnett is overpaid for a player who shies away from taking over games in the fourth quarter. It has and will always be his achilles heel. He'd do better playing second fiddle to someone like Kobe in LA so he can continue his selfish to a fault ways that define his game.
I found it kind of funny how he said he was "crushed" when Spree and Cassell were eliminated from the team. Geez, weren't these the same two guys who killed the Wolves chances a couple of years ago with their petty contract demands that led to the firing of Flip Saunders, and pretty much killed the franchise to the point of no return?
Yeah, that team has plenty of problems starting with their inept front office, but KG can be blamed for just as much of that as anyone. He wanted guys like Cassell, Sprewell, Mike James, Ricky Davis etc... and those moves didn't pay off. It's not like management didn't try to get the guys he wanted. They just didn't fit in as well as he had hoped. I'm not so sure Allen Iverson would have improved this team had the Wolves been able to get him instead of Denver.
