It's just obvious, they have probably the best "Dirk-stopper" in Marion, an unstoppable force in Amare, combine that with the best point guard in the entire league in Nash and surround them with the best sixth man all year (Barbosa has been a sixth man longer than Manu). Spurs fans will live in the past and claim on about how "Yeah? Well howabout 2005 in 5 games?" Well that was in 2005 and this Suns team is just going all the way this year I guarantee it!

Plus don't forget the 'new' NBA style, Pistons/Spurs was the last of the slow aggressive style of play and defensive orientation.

If the Spurs can't do it, I want the Suns to.

They're playing great today, but the result of one game isn't convincing enough to me.

They're a serious threat, one of the favorites, but I wouldn't say they are definitely going to win it.

If they play every night like this? Sure.

One game makes people forget about the games they've lost recently.
One game against the so-called best team in the NBA, where they've won by a large amount, not to mention pulling out a huge 2OT game in Dallas a few weeks ago.

Can the Suns shoot over 60% every night during the playoffs?
Can the Mavs continue to catch lucky breaks?

Sure they're the best playing team around the entire league now but they have gotten a lot of bounces their way and how long does luck continue to go on?

To think that the Suns or Mavs will win the le this year is just plain idioticy.

Hold on!! Lets give the le to the Warriors or the Nuggets since they both waxed the Suns within the past week. One game doesnt win a le, GO SPURS on thursday and put a beat down on the Suns so everyone will now say Spurs are the front runners. Its amazing how perceptions change after one game

haha, this thread is the portal to the "if the spurs don't win then i hope the suns do" spurs fan homage...yeah, suns might win it all, or they might not, who knows, it's one game....but, i can't say that i'm not happy the spurs/suns will matchup first and wear each other out...not that the mavs might not have their hands full but i'd hate to be the team that goes suns/mavs or spurs/mavs in successive series

Fact is there are 3 teams in the West that can win the Championship this year: Mavs, Spurs, Suns regarding what any homer posts about there team

I don't have a lot of faith in the Spurs chances this year and believe they ed the dog on the center-situation. Oberto and Elson aren't bad but as le-winning centers? I don't think so.

I believe in the Suns chances a lot more than the Spurs' chances and I'm a major fan of the team.

you think rasho and nazr were truly " le winning centers?"

you think dampier and diop are le winning centers?

amare isn't even a true center

if we play small then duncan would be our center and that's le winning enough for me

I agree that the Spurs probably won't go all the way this year, but I wouldn't blame it solely on our lack of depth at the center position

Ya know the Heat allowed... 46 or 48.. in the 1st quarter last season to the Suns and I'm sure many made the same statement you did.

What about a "top defensive" team giving up 65% for an entire game?? Seems their chances would be about equal, no?

We never claimed we are a top defensive team, we just like to look at that more.....but those screens and mismatches did kill us....they just always find a way to get it out to the guy standing on the 3 point line, who stands there the whole 24 seconds

We're gonna find out if defense wins championships once and for all. If the cliche is true then the Spurs have to win it, simple as that.

i dont kno about anyone else but, watching suns games is so annoying anymore, the all offense thing is a bunch of bull ,barbosa and marion absolutly piss me off with their gy shooting forms, mavs were missing their starting center and still out rebound the suns, and that about mavs vs suns being the biggest rivalry in the nba is pure non-sense. spurs and mavs are on a whole other level and when they meet in the conference finals...then the nba will know what a rivalry actually is...suns will not beat the spurs in the conference semi's, period.
