Major upset at WOAI
One of Nate Lundy's first big moves was to yank S.A. talk host Chris Duel off WOAI's afternoon show. He eventually did the same to Duel's replacement, Jeff Bolton.
He also pulled Charlie Parker as WOAI morning host and sent him to a talk show on Clear Channel's more-specialized sports arm, Ticket 760.
Now, Lundy — known to some as "The Terminator" — finds himself at the other end of the news-talk station's axe. He confirmed today that he was let go Thursday after 3 1/2 years as program director for WOAI and its sports arm, KTKR, a.k.a. "The Ticket."
"They said they wanted to go in another direction," Lundy said. What that direction is he couldn't say. He did indicate, however, that WOAI's ratings "could be better."
Matt Martin, regional vice president/market manager at Clear Channel, wouldn't comment today on what the station's other direction was, except to say Lundy was no longer with WOAI/KTKR. However, in a station memo about Lundy's departure, he indicated that WOAI/KTKR has "some very exciting opportunities ahead."
You've got to wonder what Lundy's leaving might mean for some of the personalities he's put in place on WOAI. Lundy, considered a radio wunderkind because he reached such a high post at an unusually young age — he's now 33 — did bring a younger feel to some shows.
In fall of 2005, he put the media savvy Thompson Brothers — Rob and Jason —- in the 5-to-8 p.m. slot, where the more political Bolton used to be. The new show introduced a wider variety of topics — including news, entertainment and lifestyle issues.
Earlier, Lundy replaced veteran Parker in the mornings with a 38-year-old out of New York, TV/radio host Joe "Pags" Pagliarulo.
Lundy sounded upbeat and said he feels he had a good run at WOAI. He also hopes to stay in San Antonio, a city he's grown to love and appreciate. He's yet to land a new opportunity, but said he's optimistic, judging by positive responses from friends and colleagues.

Aaaaaannnnnnnd, cue the 760 bashing.
I like Joe Pags in the morning.
Pretty funny, intelligent, and a great voice.
Hope he can stick around.
That station went down hill when mouse stopped calling.
Cue in the sound of Peter Burns and Kori's lips being removed from his ass![]()
Is that kinda like when a Girl says it's not you, it's me?![]()
Here is what really happened....
Nate decided ****** and then ***** said *****, but that led to ******* and then he said *******, but then sales ******, and then corporate *******, and then ****** donkey, with a shovel, followed by ****** and a midget.

I lost interest in WOAI radio when the Thompson brothers stopped hosting the react.
Vex had his moments- but it just wasn't the same.
Charlie and Chance... I don't know, did they change the post game format?
i'm just not into it at all anymore.
Sorry to even say this, but this is justice.
Whoa.....
Nah, the postgame show is still the same, but Its ok, I mean its better than nothing at all.Charlie and Chance... I don't know, did they change the post game format?
i'm just not into it at all anymore.
Chancellor has his moments, but Charlie just brings the whole show down.
If it was Andy Everett and Chance, then that would be a good one, cause Everett was a damn good post game show host.
Thank God, now they just need to wise up and axe Vex and Walter from the afternoons and they may then have a station worth listening too.
Oh, and put rat poison in Charlie Parker's coffee, that would help too.
Missed it by 13 posts.

Seeing as Pete and Nate are good friends, I'm not sure this decision is a positive thing for Pete, unfortunately.
Hey, they deserve it.
Dear God, you mean Peter Burns may have actually work for a living now?
Did anyone hear RC Buford call in to STSA last week with his input on the A&M coach? Walter asked him about James White and Buford resonded with I am hear to talk about the Aggies. What a jack-ass Walter should have told his ass off but he has no huevos i guess.
I liked the in person interview Charlie did with Beno at Ingram mall last year- he asked interesting questions.
On the radio though, Charlie depresses me. Even after win, too much listening to him and I want to shoot myself in the head.
I agree with about Chance having his moments.
yes, tell off the GM of the only pro team in town. THAT would've been an intelligent career move.Did anyone hear RC Buford call in to STSA last week with his input on the A&M coach? God do you think before you say this stupid ?
Dear god, give this man a ing life.Dear God, you mean Peter Burns may have actually work for a living now?
Awesome. Lundy is a little b!tch. I literally think he thought he was the coolest most powerful man in town.
Reality will do him some good.
I was saying Boo-urns.
