in A, it's about time. It feels like it's been years since I've watched a UFC event.
Thursday night on e TV...
UFC Fight Night 9 — The Palms Las Vegas
Main Card Bouts:
Joe Stevenson vs. Melvin Guillard
Kenny Florian vs. Dokonjonosuke Mishima
Antoni Hardonk vs. Justin McCully
Preliminary Bouts:
Drew Fickett vs. Keita Nakamura
Nate Mohr vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Kuniyoshi Hironaka vs. Forrest Petz
Wilson Gouveia vs. Seth Petruzelli
Naoyuki Kotani vs. Thiago Tavares
Roan Carneiro vs. Rich Clementi
I think Stevenson vs Guillard will be fireworks...lots of trash talk between them. Melvin accused Joe of using HGH...

Despite all that BS, should be a great matchup.
Florian vs Mishima should be interesting (as far as Florian fights go). Probably on the ground...
and Hardonk should KO o's mullet-wearing trainer, who's filling in for Mir due to "injury"...
Prefight videos should be showing up in the next couple days...

It's odd - I couldn't care less about this card. Just can't seem to be excited about it. Should be some decent fights, though.
KEN-FLO!!!! I cant stand Guillard, but I wouldnt mind him winning. Hes overhand right is amazing. Id love for him to get a le shot someday.
*reminder*
9 & 10:00 central time I think...
I'm glad to be able to see Hardonk fight again, although he may not break much of a sweat. Hopefully it will be a quick fight and they can squeeze in Kurt Pellegrino vs. Nate Mohr.

Doubt it...they'll squeeze in another movie promo, xyience commercial, and get some hot sports opinions from Goldie about "Ken-Flo" if they have extra time...![]()
They have put in extra fights before.
I know...I was being sarcastic after the way UFC 68 was handled...![]()
Big Nog to be announced as joining the UFC tonight???

Kevin Randleman in Stevenson's corner???![]()
Let's go Melvin lets go.
Man, if that happens that heavy weight division will be nuts, all they need is Barnett then
I though Kenny just tapped. He definatley thought about it. Im really glad he won. Ive never seen him dominate like that.
At first I thought tapped too but the replay proved otherwise. I don't think anybody doubts Florian anymore. He gets better with every fight.
I didnt relize he had kicks like that. He overpowered a much bigger fighter. I think in a couple more fights he might be prepared for Sherk again.

Anybody notice Melvin stealing some classic lines from great boxers?
"My style is impetuous."
"I'm prettier than him."
Joe "Daddy" Stevenson !!!!
Man, what an easy night's work for him. Avoid 3 out of reach punches from Guillard, straight jab to the chin, take him down, when he gets up and exposes his neck, sink in the choke. How easy was that??
I love when some classless, talking idiot like Melvin Guillard gets embarrassed like that.
Antoni Hardonk, what the was that??? What a pathetic, piss poor performance he had. Except for when McCully caught his leg on a kick, he had zero excuse for letting McCully take him down. McCully didn't even have to shoot. He'd just basically walk up to Hardonk and grap him around the waste. Hardonk showed zero offense to keep McCully from getting the clench. How about keeping some distance with your kickboxing?? In the 3rd round he finally decided to put forth some effort, but it was too late. The fat boy had already won with a very unimpressive performance.
Florian looked damn good, except getting caught with that leglock.
I knew they'd show the Pelligrino fight. That dude is solid. LOL a Rogan embarrassing the out of him on national TV.
hahahha...I forgot about the booger thing...too funny.
I think we over-rated Hardonk a bit after beating the 40 yr old Pendergrast (or whatever his name was)...
Florian is looking really good...for as much $hit as he takes on forums, it's hard to not like the guy...
and Melvin...that guy is a submission magnet. hahahaha...glad that bas lost. It's amazing how big he is for 155 lbs though...jeez...
Joe really showed alot class to Melvin after the fight, even though Melvin didn't deserve it. Joe showed he is a man, while Melvin continues to be a talking kid. Hopefully Melvin will show alot more maturity from now on, but I doubt it.
That's the first time Florian hasn't looked like some half-starved street waif. Obviously the new strength and conditioning coach is earning his money. Kenny was impressive.
Decidedly NOT impressive was Justin McCully. He looked like any other slob off the street trying to walk in and be a heavyweight. I know he took the fight on pretty short notice, though, so I'll reserve judgement for his next fight or two.
I was hoping Melvin would end up embarrassed after all his trash, and my wish came true. What a great night.
Guillard is a punk. He deserved it. He looked like the o of old. That to had of pissed off Joe when he walked away. I didnt think he had the choke that deep, but I guess so. I thought the McCully fight was pretty intertaining.
