I wonder if that means Jackie Butler gets some burn...
Elson has a wrist injury. He won't be playing tonight.

I wonder if that means Jackie Butler gets some burn...
With the way he's been playing lately, including getting owned by a NBDL rookie center and the corpse of Jamaal Magloire , I'm guessing it's a limp wrist injury.
Because he's a ? Golly, that's brilliant.
Better joke: he's starting to play like John Amaechi. Do I have to write these for you?
Perhaps James White can get some minutes at center?

You have to admit my joke was better. Just as sly. Just as phobic. A general improvement over something lame.
Elson has gotten worse and worse as the season has gone on. The last three months, his shooting percentage has gone down each month, his rebounding has gone down each month and his turnovers have gone up each month. All while his minutes have stayed pretty much the same.
But Spurs fans don't care because he dunks it a couple times a week.
Mr. Drama Queen at it again.
I apologize for offending you. I'm sure Elson's wrist is rather sturdy. Or not because he's not playing ... but whatever ... you get your apology.
I'm a Spurs fan that doesn't care about dunking. (I'm a Duncan fan. He can't jump!)
My only concern with Elson out is who gets those minutes. It could be a good thing.
Oberto been playing great, putting good stats for his limited minutes...so a great opportunity for him tonight!
Spurs fans here love him because he keeps the Spurs from going small. No matter how ty he does, they will love him for just that reason.
I really can't understand the guy's lack of production. He has size, quickness, etc. - basically all the tools to be exactly what the Spurs need from the center position.
Oh . That means Oberto will start.![]()
There tiMVP goes pulling an Imus.
Soon you will have thousands of pink spur jersey wearing fans picketing your house.
Feel ya. It's always a mystery to me why a guy like Elson can't produce more. I mean, how can an athletic 7-footer not grab a rebound every few minutes? I just don't get it. I guess it's just a matter of timing and positioning. And desire. But jesus, it's frustrating. If he were slow and clumsy and short, like Oberto, I could excuse it....but he's not.
Then again, last night, as I watched Lebron destroy the Nets, i kept wondering, "What is it about Lebron that lets him do that?". He wasn't killing them with outside shots. He just kept doing the same thing over and over and over. He'd dribble a few times, then drive past his man and get to the rim for either a dunk or a layup. Why couldn't he be defended? And why can't more guys do what he was doing? I mean, at his size, he can't possibly be as fast as an Iverson or Parker or Arenas.
I guess it just comes down to skill and talent. Elson doesn't have them....Duncan does though, thank god.
Thanks. You just can't be an ass without someone smacking you in the face. The Republicans are no longer in power.
what the ?You just can't be an ass without someone smacking you in the face. The Republicans are no longer in power.
This makes no sense...
BTW were gonna rip Elson for his D on Magloire.
Duncan should get as equal treatment. he let Magloire score and push him around just as much.
The tone of the country has changed. Randomly being an asshole is no longer permitted. Before, us nice people felt constantly threatened by a pervading sense of gloom and indecency. That is no longer the case.

How true. All the a-holes better watch out...A lot of them are on the ropes already...Rove, Alberto Gonzalez, Wolfowitz, Imus, etc etc etc
This season has followed pretty much the same ebb and flow as last, only the names have been changed. Bear with me.
The season started with a slow, but smart, white guy starting at center (Rasho/Oberto). The Spurs were doing fine in November and December, but everyone thought the center should be better. People clamored, "We need to give the more athletic guy a chance. He is the guy we need for the play-offs- for Phoenix and Dallas."
So, sure enough around February the slow white guy went to the bench, and the more athletic player (Nazr/Elson) was handed the starting job. Now people tried to say that this guy was not so smart- did not seem to have the defense down at all, but fans continued to say, "Give him more time. Let him play with the starters. You will see."
But just like last year, the player this year had one really good game- late Feb or early March, and everyone got excited and said, "See, I told you!" Then, whoever that player was disappeared- never to be seen again. That Nazr of the Phoenix game March 2006 is still MIA.
So, the head coach gets irritated with said new starting center. Yells at him alot; his teammates get annoyed with his being in the wrong spot- and sure enough, he starts getting pulled from games sooner and sooner. Now the slow white guy took some time, but as the season ended he started to develop a good role off the bench. He was playing well with the bench guys.
But the problem became- how much longer will the head coach be able to put up with this starter! So, sure enough, as the play-offs start, this guy will start, but Pop wil have a quick hook- play him less and less- put Oberto in the starting line-up for one game and make him the scapegoat when the Spurs lose- pull out Horry expecting him to perform miracles when he has none left- and in the end, Pop will say- none of the big men played well, and Finley will become the starting center.
Get over it. Nesterovic still sucks.
I think we should start Butler tonight just for the of it, it's not like he's going to be much worse than Elson.
And Elson makes me worried for the playoffs, we are really only going to have one rebounder AGAIN in Duncan.![]()
So I guess Elson's last game vs Detroit wasn't good.
I guess that game vs Phoenix where he got 10 boards and was agressive with a blocked shot doesnt count as a good one.
Interesting.
