i got a refurb dell inspiron 1501 for my wife - 1GB RAM, 1490 wireless, AMD TUrion dual core 1.6Ghz and a 80GB HDD for $650.
I'm looking to buy a notebook, nothing too expensive, something around $1,000. My father is tarveling to Houston soon, and was also wondering where would be a good place to buy a notebook? Anybody here from Houston got any advice?

If you're going Windows I would stick with XP for a while Vista from what I've heard is still having problems with drivers and such
