or lack thereof. There is NO Floor leader out there. Golden State took it to them. Devin Harris actually looked scared. It just shows you that the Playoffs are a different season then the regular season. They thought they would show up and just win. Premature just like they thought they would sweep the Heat last year. Making plans for a celebration after game 2. Whoops ! Maybe they will learn a lesson. Saying the Heat were lucky, not losing graciously but with a bad at ude. It looked like Mark Cuban was blaming the refs again for losing if you saw his reactions at the end of the game. Who was he yelling at? Did he yell at dear Dirk (his leader)?

They will play better simply because of their talent but the pundits who automatically have crowned them as this year's champions are ridiculous in their analysis.

Yep they played scared. There's no denying it. It doesn't help that they rely so much on perimeter shots.

did you actually need to start ANOTHER thread to mention this?? while i agree - they definitely have a lack of leadership on the floor... just wondering how many more threads are gonna be created to discuss the Mavs from another angle... it can't all be mentioned in ONE thread? just askin... the air really, no answer needed.

but anyway - i would like for Dirk to step up and be the leader he needs to be... but part of me feels, he will never be that leader. cause for concern definitely. however, it didnt look like anyone was tryin to do anything or create anything or be vocal or anything. looked like they were just runnin crazy and i hope there's another plan for that game 2.

and cuban was yellin as usual, not certain if it was to the refs or to his players. looks more like he was disgusted at his players than the lack of calls he thot they should get. i dunno tho. who am i?

They really don't have a leader on that team, and I'm not being a Mav hater, I'm being serious. AJ is there leader but he is their coach and him being the toughest Mav doesn't help them on the court. The Mavs are still lacking one major leader...like a Shaq, a Nash, a Kobe, a Duncan, a Paul, and so on.

With the Mavericks being the underdogs going into the series, they will have to do a lot to overcome a team that has beaten them 7 out of 8 over 2005-2007. Again, the Mavericks think that they don't have to go out and play just because they won 67 games this season. "No one really expected them to win", was Dirk's comment after the game. Wrong. It is a very real possibility. Even if GS loses tomorrow night, they go back home with the series tied at 1-1.

It's still possible Dallas will win the series, but GS was one of the league's better home teams with a 30-11 home record. GS has homecourt advantage now.

Maybe during the summer they could trade one of their lesser valuable players such as Jerry Stackhouse or Jason Terry and bring in a player who can be a real leader on the floor.
