he is looking for a change in roster....well at least thats what on the ticket "ticker" so far...didnt and haven't heard the whole interview
not convinced aj has faith in dirk anymore
If he doesn't he sure does a good job of hiding his lack of faith.
Only badwagon fans and the drama-hungry media have lost faith in Dirk. The fans bashing Dirk are the ones that probably watch all of about 5 games a year.
The bashing is happening because he was made up to be something he isn't. I've spent the whole season sickened by the MVP talk. I was content with him being a solid player, not a power player. If anybody thinks it's all about match-ups, then prepare to remain dissappointed. Dirk did smell up the playoffs but the team fell apart as a group. No amount of coaching could change what happened. They don't have the speed or power to keep up.
^ so who deserved MVP over Dirk? just wondering...
I still think it's Nash. It could even be Kobe (pausing for a moment to puke). Those 2 teams are dead without them.
I agree with this, and Lebron, the Cavs would suck balls without him
As are the Wizards without Arenas, Spurs without Duncan, Pistons without Billups, Heat without Wade, etc. I think "MVP" is such a nebulous concept. There are about 15 guys who make a huge difference in the standings for their team. If you had to go with best player in the league, it's Kobe for guards, Duncan for bigs.
True. SA would be dead without Duncan. That guy doesn't get respect, and thats ed up.
Another thing I couldn't believe about some mav fans is they stated over and over on Spurstalk how they wouldn't trade Dirk for Tim. That's just nuts!
just curious, did you feel this way at the end of the regular season and will you still feel this way when the suns once again fail to make the finals for their third year straight? i agree that IN RETROSPECT, maybe nash deserves it, and i will admit that this IS ONLY IN RETROSPECT, which is why handing the MVP out in regular season sucks because during the regular season i felt it was dirk's and i also felt like dirk deserved it last year as well, probably more so than this year. they should either make it a regular season award and give it out at the very end of the regular season or during the 2-3 day interim of the regular season or make it a regular/playoff award, in which case that award would probably be eclipsed by whoever wins the Finals MVP award.
Sorry it took so long to respond.
I felt that way throughout the season. The jumpers are nice, when they hit. That can't be successful forever. He's too easy to push away from the low post. It might have something to do with setups that are late. It might also have something to do with his being uncomfortable in that position. He doesn't have confidence down low and every opponent can sense it. It doesn't take much to rattle him early from the paint, and that leads to his desperate fall away jumper. It's not all his fault, but he's responsible for his own play. He doesn't have a set up guy or anyone that can move with him for muscle.
Something else I found compelling (against GS) was Howard on a breakaway with Dirk trailing. Instead of Josh passing off to Dirk for an easy layup, he took it to dunk with a defender in his face.
Dirk was playing so deflated that Josh didn't trust him in that moment. IMO
