It's because we are lazy and make our kids run around in nothing but a diaper.
I have noticed this often enough to make a generalization about it.
When I have to give a phone number(in Spanish) to a Spanish speaker for some unknown reason they cannot comprehend the number when I give it to them number by number.
Example. 5-5-5 - 3-2-4-1
Immediately they repeat it as five hundred fifty five -(and again often enough to notice) three hundred twenty four one.
Inevitably they end up writing down 8 numbers.
If they repeat it in their preferred way incorrectly I, for whatever reason, attempt to correct them by again repeating number by number...but it is like i'm speaking gibberish.
Literally I have to tell them to write down each number after I say it.
and even then after repeating it back correctly to me...they end up with 8 numbers.

I thought phone numbers in Mexico were eight numbers?
They have phones in Mexico?
three hundred twenty four one? how does that even make sense. how do they say it. tres ceintos veinte quatro uno?
Now you've got the damn jingle for the Mexican 1-800-Collect (or something) stuck in my head.
Uno-ochocientos, dos veinte seis, veinte siete, veinte siete!
exactly. I have to bite my tongue not to correct them.
It boggles my mind how many cannot process single digit numbers and must put them in strings of numbers.
talk about old. hahah. yeah, i remember that
even if they say it that way, doesn't it still make four numbers?
Who you callin' old?![]()
hahah not you. i mean.. i haven't heard that in a really long time. so it seems "old" to me![]()
Mexicans also don't flush their -encrusted toilet paper.
I think they just don't want you to forget how to clean their bathrooms.
Que?? No entiendo... otra vez por favor?
Isn't that the god damned truth. Why the is that. I never ing understood why these s want to look at their own all day long.
because it pisses the gringo monolingual off
I remember doing some speaking things in my spanish classes where we had to repeat phone numbers and the teachers/professors would always say repeating them the way we do in English isn't the way most spanish speakers do.
I just think it's the way it comes out. I mean, obviously it's kind of annoying, but that's just the way they roll.
because mexicans dont know how to work with numbers...... give em a lawnmower and some edgers and they will work wonders on your lawn
WTF!?! Eveyone knows Mexicans know how to multiply!!
Quinientos cincuenta y cinco, treinta y dos, cuarenta y uno.
mexicans make babies when they are 15 and have a proud parent for it lmao
I'm sure if you ended up actually getting laid in your young age, your parents would be proud of you, too.
They might throw you a party.
