Should be an interesting game. We are bringing our "A" team IMO. The best we can field at the moment. Any news as to what team the US has? Players? anything? One thing I can say about our team right now is we are deep. We have quality bench players at almost every position. Then again, we were also deep in the World Cup...

The Argentinian lineup is as follows:

    Goalies:
    Roberto Abbondanzieri
    Juan Pablo Carrizo
    Agustín Orión

    Defenders:
    Javier Zanetti
    Roberto Ayala
    Gabriel Heinze
    Gabriel Milito
    Daniel Díaz
    Hugo Ibarra
    Nicolás Burdisso

    Midfielders:
    Luis González
    Juan Román Riquelme
    Javier Mascherano
    Esteban Cambiasso
    Fernando Gago
    Juan Sebastián Verón
    Pablo Aimar

    Forwards:
    Lionel Messi
    Hernán Crespo
    Diego Milito
    Carlos Tevez
    Rodrigo Palacio

I'm not too happy Basile included Veron, but I guess you take what you can get. The teams he's picked in the past have left a lot to be desired. I'm just glad the man is trying to get back what we had in the World Cup. I thought that team was excellent. A young group of guys with great team play, great individual talent, and tons of heart. We lost (in penalty shootout) to a great Germany team, and there is no shame in that.

Bob Bradley will probably have the same lineup in the Copa as he has in the Gold Cup. I can't foresee any major changes.

    Goalies:
    Tim Howard
    Kasey Keller
    Brad Guzan

    Defenders:
    Carlos Bocanegra
    Jonathan Spector
    Jay Demerit
    Jonathan Bornstein
    Oguchi Onyewu
    Frank Simek
    Michael Parkhurst
    Frankie Hejduk

    Midfielders:
    Ricardo Clark
    Pablo Mastroeni
    Justin Mapp
    Michael Bradley
    Clint Dempsey
    Demarcus Beasley
    Steve Ralston
    Benny Feilhaber

    Forwards:
    Taylor Twellman
    Brian Ching
    Eddie Johnson
    Landon Donovan

Damn. That Argentina lineup is impressive, but a lot of the US players are fighting to be recognized so they can sign with a team. Beasley and Onyewu both don't have a team after they were let go by Man City and Newcastle. Plus almost all of the Argentina players already have contracts with big clubs. This could be the coming out party for many Americans especially Justin Mapp, Michael Bradley, Clark, and Bornstein.

Argentina clearly has the edge but I wouldn't put it past the US team pulling an upset.

Basile didn't call them. I don't mind he didn't call Saviola, we're pretty stacked at that position. Maxi on the other hand could've been useful. Still, like I said earlier, this team beats the teams he's fielded in the past, by a mile.

US has recently lost a lot of its players who had lots of caps (retirement etc.), while there is potential I doubt the team as it stands now will be able to pull one over on a team as good as Argentina. 2-0 Argentina.

So, is that 7:30 or 8:30 on the east coast? I forget when the time difference of Argentina and the US east coast is 1 or 2 hours, half the year it's one, half two.

Only Telelatino is available on Time Warner (at least in Austin) and it costs $6.95 for the whole Latino package. I'm actually considering buying it.

this isn't 1995... jajaja However, I agree that anything can happen really. If the US wins this one they'll get major props. Beating our A team with their B team is no small thing.

having said that Argentina 4 - 1 USA.

This so called "A" team makes me wanna puke when I watch it. Specially with Veron and Riquelme there. We will get knocked out in the first round, but the good side is Basile might get fired.

well if we end up losing to the US "B" team, then I'd suppose you'd be right
