Dude, no one beats McHale in the bad GM contest. McHale's drafting of Brewer is a good one, but he will still always be remembered as the guy who jeopardized his franchise's future by trying to do an illegal deal with borderline scrub Joe Smith, effectively dooming KG to a career of mediocrity.

MJ's catching up though. Michael hasn't made many good draft decisions; , he drafted Kwame Brown number 1 overall. He traded the younger and still improving Rip Hamilton for the much older Stack. He got a legit big man in Brandan Wright..then traded him for J-Rich and got rumored softie Davidson.
Isiah redeemed himself some; he got rid of one of his overpaid guards in Steve Francis and got a legit post threat in Randolph. On paper, they're much better equipped to compete in the East.

On a side note: has anyone had a better draft night than the blazers these past two years? dayum.

On the trade for Jason Richardson:

"Can he be a Michael Jordan? We're not expecting him to be," Jordan said. "Can he be a piece that helps us finish ball games a lot better? Can he give us a little more firepower on the offense end? Yes."

I guess people don't talk enough about how great he is, so now he's going to start.

I think while they gave too much, they didn't need a raw frontcourt athlete. They needed someone who could put the biscuit in the basket.

Wright fits GS much better, and with Belinelli going to the W's as well, they made out like bandits.

Pathetic. There is no upside to JRich. None. He's already proven himself to a one-dimensional second-tier player. Let's repeat this, he is not a franchise player. This trade does not appreciably improve the Bobcats at all.

The only positive argument that can be made is JRich's primary weakness (defense) will be covered by having Okafor behind him.

On offense though, a Felton/Richardson back-court is a chuckers paradise. Felton has some PG skills, but he can't shoot worth .

Oh, and say what you will about Thomas, but he actually might have improved his team yesterday...stress the "might".
