Epcot is a parent/adults best friend.
MGM Studios comes in 2nd and has the better rides.
You don't really need a rental car unless you are going to night attractions that are non-Disney. But if you are staying on one of the resorts (epecially around Pleasure Island or the Boardwalk(? - think thats what it is called)) you will probably find all you need to keep you entertained without even getting on a Disney transportation shuttle (walking instead).
