Yeah, it was on the net for a while . . . the rumor said that the bandaid on the back of Ving's neck was where his soul had escaped.

that pisses me off cause i really wanna know....they said it was an old school technique of taking out your soul and that the suitcase was his soul but how did those guys wind up with it?

I don't buy any of it. The suitcase was simply to represent something everyone wanted I'm not so sure it actually had a real value or le attached to it. Its just a mysterious idea designed to allow the audience to assume anything they want.

Thats what I think. The soul idea is kind of far fetched in a movie that seems to be grounded with realistic ideals.
