Nocioni could make Las Vegas tournament

BUENOS AIRES (FIBA Americas Championship) - Argentina ace Andres Nocioni has resumed training and could play in next month`s FIBA America`s Championship after all, according to his agent.

The Chicago Bulls small forward missed 30 regular season NBA games last season with a foot injury and earlier this year admitted his bid to be fit for the pre-Olympic event had failed.

But, with four other players already ruled out of Sergio Hernandez`s squad due to injury, agent Claudio Villanueva revealed the 27-year-old is back in training and could play in Las Vegas from August 22 to September 2.

He told Radio La Red: "He started to train again six days ago and he is willing to play the tournament.

"If he can recover strength in the affected zone, he is very probable to be available to form part of the squad for the FIBA Americas Championship."

In Las Vegas, Olympic champions Argentina will be hoping to qualify to defend their le in Beijing.
