Did you not watch the 2nd round this year? Barbosa was owned.
barbosa or devin harris? i'm leaning toward harris, even though leandro was the 6th man of the year in 07.
Did you not watch the 2nd round this year? Barbosa was owned.
Exactly. Barbosa got completely shut down during the entire series earlier this year. It's not even close.
actually, that's why it struck me. i'm rewatching the suns series and got to wondering why he did so poorly when devin sliced through the spurs in 06.
I agree with the above Deron Williams
Look at our frontcourt. If we're playing two bigs then it's harder to driver on us. With only one big on the floor (a la against Dallas) we can't shot block as much and scrubs like Harris can tear us apart.
but given that rationale, then the answer isn't as clear cut. barbosa performed poorly in 07 but against a different defensive set than what harris got. if they face the same defense, who performs better?
Barbosa played poorly because he was injured and couldn't hit his shots. He had surgery on his elbow after the season.
Barbosa was hindered by an elbow injury, like Jeremy said.
I remember reading in another thread that Barbosa sucked ass because he was playing through pain in his shooting arm.
yeah, and Barbosa it's not a point guard!
Dirk Nowitzki
Blake
Steve Nash ; no question
Absolutely. I bet we see a different Barbosa in the playoffs next year. The kid is a great player and he will learn from his mistakes.
harris and deron williams were tremendous
Nash was mostly shut down by Bowen/Parker's improving D and Tim's incredible help. He turned it over like a machine. Love the guy, but the only PG who gave us any problems this year's playoffs was Williams, who was a fearless stud like Mike Bibby in the 2000 (2001?) playoffs against the Lakers. Deron is already a better player than Bibby has ever been though.
Parker rubbed his nuts all over Nash the past few years.
It's hard to put down that Barbosa guy. He keeps popping back up.
We simply underestimated little Devin Harris in 06. He kicked the $h!t out of us. I thought he was awesome personally. I do think however think that if he was a serious threat at the beginning of he series we wouldn't have let him go off for what he did.
We were simply unABLE to stop Deron Williams.
was this between the laker series and the SA series? he tore the lake show up.
