After the latest and greatest Windows XP Pro update, my computer won't go into standby.

I get this error:

The service Microsoft.Net Framework v.1.1.4322 update is preventing the machine from entering standby. Try stopping the service and try again.

I tired updating to v.2.0 and 3.0 hoping this would fix the problem, but nyet.
I see in my add/remove programs there is a Microsoft.Net Framework v.1.1 and then underneath it, is the Hotfix for it.

Can I delete the Hotfix? Or will it screw up my computer? Will that even solve my problem?
