because it symbolizes how many fingers on each hand that will be empty when his career is over.
I don't know. He asked for 22, 23, 24, and 25, but they wouldn't him have those either. Then he tried 31. No dice. 2+1=3, but 3 was a no-go as well. Neither could he have 2 or 1.
Then he got crazy. 19? Nope. 18? Verboten. 17, 16, 15? Nyet, nein, non. 14? Fuhgettabou .
After trying 00, 35, 33, 32, 10, and 6, they finally agreed to let him have #5.
The Celtics I guess are just very picky about player numbers.
It's kind of ed up that a guy requests that his number not be retired so someone else can wear it, and then they retire the number for the next guy. I seriously hope that they don't think about retiring KG's number if he doesn't win them a le.
if he came to dallas we could have had the pleasure of banning him from wearing 15. Brad "Ass Kicker" Davis! WhooHoo!
Seriously, can we pe ion to have that number unretired? I know he was a long time Mav and all, but was he ever good enough to have his number retired? Even as ty a history as the Mavs have had?
I want them to retire so many numbers that Celtic players are forced to wear things like 61 and 83.
When Dirk gets his number retired, will the banner in the AAC have a picture of an exercise bike?
I'm waiting for 107 or 000.
seriously, I think the reasoning is he was the fifth pick in the 96 draft...or was it the 95 draft? I don't feel like taking the two seconds to google.
nah it'll have a pic of manu grabbing his wrist
I guess so, since looking back that will have been the Mavs' closest brush with a le.
maybe so, maybe not
And the Red Sox will never break the curse of Babe Ruth.
Texas will never beat Oklahoma, Mack Brown is merely a great recruiter and a ty sideline coach.
The White Sox will never break the curse of the Black Sox.
Peyton Manning will never beat New England when it counts or win a Super Bowl.
I don't have a crystal ball, so I don't feel like going out on a limb and proclaiming the Bobcats or Grizzlies will never win a le, but since you do, can I get you in touch with my stockbroker?
Then why is Manu's foul going to end up on Dirk's banner?
