Van Halen, Roth to announce tour next week

Van Halen will announce a 50-date American reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth during a news conference in Hollywood next week, sources said.
The arena trek will begin in early October.
Roth, who split from the rock group in the mid-1980s in hopes of solo s om, will reunite with co-founders Eddie Van Halen on guitar and brother Alex Van Halen on drums. Eddie's teenage son Wolfgang will sub for Michael Anthony on bass.
A proposed summer amphitheater tour by the group never got off the ground, with Eddie Van Halen entering a rehabilitation facility for undisclosed reasons in March.
In the months since, the guitarist has been seen publicly looking healthy and fit.
Van Halen last toured in 2004, with Roth's replacement, vocalist Sammy Hagar, grossing nearly $40 million, according to Billboard Boxscore.

i'm not getting my hopes up. eddie's out of rehab and looks good. i don't know about them touring without michael. who's doing the high parts?! i won't pay more than $40 a ticket

I wonder if he's still going to be wearing his spandex suit.
some of my friends saw him in austin 2-3 years ago, said he's still got it as a stage presence - not sure about the jumps.
I think DLR is also missing quite a bit of hair. I'm glad I caught them back in the day...and only paid $15.
Let's get one thing straight: DLR never had the chops. The band was pretty vocal after the fact that they always had to tune their instruments down two full notes to accommodate his limited vocal range. It's always been about the hair, the Spandex, and the at ude, and he's only got one of those left. There's a reason he was working as an EMT like 3-4 years ago.
Kicking Michael Anthony out of the band is beyond low.
DLR's vocals were completely torn up back in '94.
I can't imagine that they've IMPROVED since then.
