It's hard to find any good liquor under $30.
I'm trying to get a bottle of the stuff for my friend's birthday. I dont like it very much, but are there any suggestions for a good blend or single malt under $30?
If you don't do Scotch, what's your favorite whisky?
It's hard to find any good liquor under $30.
Yeah you're right. But there's gotta be something that doesnt taste like and is somewhat inexpensive.
Like there's this $10 Potter's Vodka I buy. It's not good, but it's not bad. IMO it's better than Smirnoff. But other cheap like Popov or McCormick I can't take.
As for scotch, I have no idea. But a decent cheap whiskey is Jim Beam.
If you want whiskey for cheap, you can never go wrong with a bottle of Crown.
Jim Beam will do. A Finnish friend of mine will drain a bottle of that in a night ... if you're looking for good and cheap all wrapped up in one.
By him a Johnny Walker Blue Label...
alright, just kidding there. Seriously, for about $20 to $25 you can get a bottle of Johnny Walker Red Label that's good with soda. If he likes it neat, I'd suggest the Black Label. Since you sound like you really don't know what his scotch tastes are you can't really go wrong with a Walker Red or Black.
the best single malt there is, dollar for dollar is "Lismore". it is of such high quality that its very hard to find...$20 bucks. it puts just about everything else to shame. the dons and bens in olmos park is the only one that ALWAYS has some. i went to the one on behind the toys r us off 410 and blanco, i think, and they had just gotten six bottles in. i took two. trust me on this one...in this instance youll get waaaaay more than you pay for.
Genius. Thanks!
Too bad its Sunday. I feel like getting liquored up.
How much is the JW blue label over there? Over here its around 400 pesos I think. Which would make it around 125 US. A little over the 30 bucks you had planned, but still, can't beat a JW blue
double post
Scotch under $30 I'm not sure about.
But, you can get a nice bottle of Seagram's 7 for under $30.
There's also Jameson whiskey too.
Both are very good.
BTW
Friends don't buy friends cheap scotch.
Step up to the Glenlivet, the good single malt stuff.
The stuff that goes down like carmel, and goes terrificly witha Jose Seijas Cigar.
Even the thought of Scotch makes me want to vomit.
Sorry Tpark. Not all of us can drop that kind of money. If I could afford the good stuff, I would get him the good stuff.
Sorry to hear that.
maybe get him a 6 pack of heineken.
guys seem to enjoy that in the commercials
Why didn't you just say "maybe get him a couple of 40's or some MD20/20?"
Sheesh.
Crown is good ... either of the JW labels would be a decent choice.
Does anybody else see the irony here?
