He has a point but he makes no sense backing it up. Nas having a gun conviction ultimately has nothing to do with what happened in VT. He makes very poor corralations for the sake of being arguementative, its pointless and then he cuts everyone off when they try to justify their stance. I can't stand how he simply talks over everyone like their beneath him. How in the world like this has become journalism is beyond me. Too bad that author couldn't reach through the screen and slap him.
What is his point? He doesn't have one. He is so misinformed its not even funny.
Nail...Head...Direct hit!!!!!
He has an argument, but he argues it horribly. I dont know much about NAS, but if he has any music glorifying violence, or is a violent person himself, it really has no place around that event.
Now, Bill Oriely is a piece of , and doesnt do anything to help his argument, he only ruins it...
I agree he does have a point. But the way he goes about proving his point is ignorant as . Number 1 he can't even pronounce his name right, number 2, Nas isn't a "gangster rapper", Number 3, if it was Quentin Tarantino no one would think twice about it. White violence is art, Black Violence is barbaric.
You can take lyrics from almost any artist and portray them as negative ones. I agree Nas has had his share of songs about guns, coke, es etc etc. But he has also had songs like "I Can" "Thugz Mansion" "One Mic" "Can't Forget About You" and on and on. Also I am sure he would pick songs that wouldn't remind people of shootings, hes not an idiot.
yep..exactly.
I just watched the response clip you posted. I love the ending.
You save the world everytime you walk in the room
What you do
You alone could save our soul
Just your smile makes me think that I could
Kill the king, Kill the king
Just your laugh makes me know that I could
Kill the king, kill him
Awesome
It's not about the songs!![]()
this made me want to post this.........

Free Virginia Tech concert stirs vocal protests from parents

RICHMOND
Families who lost children in the April 16 Virginia Tech massacre said Friday they are troubled that a free concert next month will feature a rapper known for his violent and profane lyrics.
The concert is being organized by members of the Dave Matthews Band, who proposed it as a show of support for Virginia Tech after a student gunman murdered 32 students and professors and then killed himself.
Also slated to perform are John Mayer, Phil Vassar and New York rapper Nas, who is at the center of the controversy.
A 1999 song by Nas includes the lyrics: "Let the trigger blow, seven shots now he lying on the ground. Blood on the floor. Then we shot some more."
Holly Sherman, whose daughter Leslie was shot to death, said she was unfamiliar with Nas before this week.
"I must agree that the lyrics are very inappropriate for ANY occasion, especially an occasion associated with such sorrow," she wrote in an e-mail to The Virginian-Pilot.
Sherman said she hopes Nas will "tone down the lyrics in light of recent events."
"He is generous to do this for free; he means well. Maybe a compromise can be reached."
Other grieving parents were so angered that they called for the concert to be canceled.
"Virginia Tech should be spending time making it safe for the students coming back to school instead of having a party," said Grafton Peterson, whose daughter Erin was among the victims.
Ambrosia Healy, a publicist for the Dave Matthews Band, issued a statement saying that band members selected the concert lineup to include multiple music styles.
The statement defended the choices, saying, "Nas is a positive force in hip-hop. Over the course of his albums, many of which have included storytelling about the violence of inner-city life, he has evolved into a spokesman for change. His actions stand out as a true lesson in how conflict can be resolved with words."
Nas has won acclaim for more positive musical efforts. His 2003 release, "I Can," features children rapping the chorus with him:
"I know I can (I know I can), be what I wanna be (be what I wanna be), if I work hard at it (if I work hard at it), I'll be where I wanna be (I'll be where I wanna be.)"
Many of the lyrics in his seven solo albums focus on his upbringing in New York as well as his own educational and spiritual growth.
At a concert in Norfolk earlier this year, he spoke to the audience about unifying people of all colors.
Cecelia Hovis, marketing manager for Virginia Tech, said the university will not interfere with the concert lineup.
Hovis said free tickets will be provided to students, faculty, staff and recent Tech graduates. She said some additional tickets will be sold, but the price has not yet been decided. She said proceeds from those sales and the sale of T-shirts will be used to cover the university's costs for hosting the concert. "We're not raising money here," she said.
That has not satisfied some families who are su ious about the concert's finances.
Vincent Bove, a spokesman representing seven of the victims' families, including the parents of Nicole White of Smithfield, said university officials should apologize, exclude Nas from the concert and provide the families with detailed financial information about the event.

It's good that there are people out there like Bill O'Reilly to get people pissed off about things that they wouldn't have even known about otherwise. Lord knows there's not enough bull going on in our own lives to be angry with.
"how do you know how much money I'm makin?"
I'm almost 100% positive he won't be singing about guns.![]()
I wonder if there would have been any uproar if Johnny Cash was still alive and invited to play?
Nas should just save himself from the embarassment - DMB is in a different realm, way better than him.
