Holy ! I know we've had bats, but 30 freakin runs! Wow, Now why can't we ever spend on pitching?

WRONG. Most was by the Boston Braves, 40something. This is per ESPNEWS.

Of course, that was 1894 or something, before the modern era.

The pitching has been getting pretty decent since the trade deadline, but the young guys like Botts, Salty, and Murphy haven't gotten going with the bats. They've lost several 2-1, 3-2 games and a 1-0 game against Johan Santana. If they could get a consistent ace and a good 2nd guy to replace Millwood and Padilla (who were both complete this year) they could have a good rotation. Right now Gabbard, Loe, McCarthy, and even Rheinecker are looking pretty decent. I'm interested to see Edinson Volquez who went on the Roy Halladay treatment and has been working his way up from A ball this season. He just got called up after consistently throwing about a 3 ERA and several wins at AAA.

It was wrong...the article said team record and I missed it...

    But guess what?

The AL record was 36 set in 1954 by the Tigers or something...and the Rangers broke it tonight with 39.

The NL record for runs in a double header probably is the 40 you mentioned...

No matter how you slice it...the Rangers broke every modern AL and MLB scoring record today...

You don't have to come in here and rain on our parade. Turn in your season tickets if you are so unhappy and quite spoiling it for the rest of us, who know how to appreciate what little good is left in the season.

Dude, you're an enigma. In some threads you seem like a decent guy but then you have a lot of threads like this one where you come off as a GIANT .

Scoring more runs in a game than anyone in over 100 years isn't a meaningless accomplishment. They've done what not even the greatest MLB teams in history have ever done.

MLB.com It's a 109 year old record they broke, in four innings. They were down 3-0 after three and had five scoreless innings. Amazing.

Hahaha, no I haven't given it much though to be honest. I am still on a high. I keep flipping between the sports channels to see highlights again, lol. How anyone can say this is meaningless is beyond me. I mean, 110 years since anyone has done it and it's meaningless?

I know my team isn't very good right now but I am gonna enjoy the out of this. And hope that Salty continues this way for my fantasy team

Yeah I would do the same and you should enjoy it. Meaningless for their season, yeah probably, but its just like Kobe scoring 81...it was meaningless but DAMN was it amazing. Yeah I wanna see the highlights again, did you see the game live? Fantasy baseball?? My hats off to you thats a lot of games to keep up with.

I saw most of the game live. I admit I was lounging on the sofa and ended up dozing off for a few innings. When I went to sleep it was 30- Baltimore, when I woke up it was like 20-3

Totally. They used to let you buy a single game on MLB.TV last season but not this season, but JB let me use his account, which was very sweet of him. So I got to watch the whole thing again. It was the Orioles anouncers and it was interesting to hear their side of it instead of Josh and Tom, the Rangers announcers.
