Already without Kevin Garnett for possibly the remainder of the playoffs, the Boston Celtics will have to make due without backup forward Leon Powe as well.
Powe suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee in Boston's Game 2 victory over Chicago on Monday and will not play again this postseason. The injury is unrelated to the right knee sprain that sidelined Powe in March for almost a month.
Powe did not return to the bench Monday after going to the locker room early in the second quarter.
The Celtics' 118-115 victory evened their first-round series against the Bulls at a game apiece.
Garnett, the centerpiece of Boston's 2008 championship and a key to its hopes of a repeat, has been sidelined by a knee injury that limited him to four games over the final two months of the season.
Boston had a near-perfect year last year in terms of injuries, and now it's catching up to them in a big way.
Sucks for him. Can't say I'm sad for the Celtics though.
It's pretty hard to feel bad for the Celtics after seeing Garnett yesterday.

Just get Jason Richardson to put on a Powe jersey for the playoffs, they won't be able to tell the difference.

not only that, he threw 24 insults in a row to Powe's knee. In a low voice and 10 feet away of course
Injuries are always a huge part of the playoffs. The team that wins the le is almost always the one contender that manages to stay relatively healthy.
Despite how well 300-Pound-Baby and Perkins played last night, Powe is the best and most consistent big man they have outside of Garnett.

Celtics are in deep now. I just hope Kevin and Leon get healthy soon.
The team's falling apart. I can't stand the Celtics, but I hate to see injuries have such an impact on any teams chances in the postseason.
In other words even if they get past the Bulls, Dwight Howard is going to dominate Perkins,Moore,Davis in the semis. Or Phily for that matter.
Sucks that KG and Powe won't play this postseason. The path for the Cavs is getting easier by the day.
I for one can not stand anyone on the Celtics but this sucks. I only wish good health for him.

Powe is a good player. That sucks for both him and the C's.
On the other hand, I really want the Bulls to pull an upset, so I guess that's good for them.
Good thing they signed Mikki Moore.
