Bucks release Markota
The Bucks today requested waivers on 6-foot-10 forward Damir Markota, who was acquired in a 2006 draft-night trade from the San Antonio Spurs.
Markota appeared in 30 games for the Bucks last season and played sparingly, averaging 5.7 minutes and 1.7 points. He played a total of 170 minutes with Milwaukee, and also had two stints with the team's Tulsa affiliate in the NBA Development League.
A 21-year-old native of Sarajevo, Bosnia, he lived in Sweden and Croatia while growing up, and he played with the Cibona Zagreb youth teams in Croatia.
Markota was selected by San Antonio with the 59th overall selection in the 2006 draft, then traded to the Bucks in return for a second-round pick in this year's draft. The Spurs used that pick, the 33rd overall selection, to take 6-7 forward Marcus Williams of Arizona. Williams was the fourth-leading scorer (16.6 points per game) in the Pac-10 Conference as a sop re last season.
The Bucks will owe Markota nearly $690,000 for the 2007-'08 season.

I was watching Markota play 2 games for Croatia...
He does not have good upside imo. Not good BB IQ and not a great athlete.
His numbers are not all that bad but they are deciving a bit. He does not play with passion like some of other young players (per say Slovene).
