Have tickets gone on sale yet? That sounds worthy if the price is right. Ever since HoB opened the tickets tend to be overpriced there though...
I know it's kinda far off, but I'm going to be in Dallas on the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of September for a QOTSA gig at the House of Blues. Just wanted to see if anybody from the Dallas area wanted to hang out and get some drinks or something. I'll have a couple of nights to kill and don't really know what to do around there.
lol @ it sounding like I'm going to another state or some ... ing Texas and its hugeness.

Stay away from Oak Cliff. They're straight up gangster.
And that's a "I'll already be back in San Antonio." response.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was from "Oak Cliff"
I'm going to go see QotSA on Sunday the 22nd out here.
I'll let you know how disappointing it is.
Thanks!That's Great!

Stay in the Uptown area, or go to Greenville. There are some very posh bars uptown and downtown so make sure you do some research.
My advice to you, sir:
Go pregame pretty damn hard at the Loon - strong, cheap drinks in a dive with surprisingly good talent - then take a cab to Victory Plaza (it's only like 2 miles, but you aren't going to want to drive, trust me) and go to Ghost Bar about 10:30-11 PM. There's some amazing silicone in that place. Then cab it back to McKinney Ave and go hit the Loon or the MAT - which is about six-seven blocks from the Loon - for last call.
That Subway next to the Loon will be closed at 2AM, so don't think of that as a dining option. I think the MAT's kitchen is open until 1.
tix went on sale a couple days ago... 25 for pit/general admission and up to 50 for balcony seats.
i plan on spending at least one of the nights going to different bars and drinking my sorrows away... but im not really in to stuck up white girls. where are all the easy hoodrats at?![]()
besides san antonio of course.
i've seen them a handful of times and i've yet to be disappointed... but seeing as how it's house of blues, i'd expect the show to be watered down with the more well known songs... LA and soco gigs get all the love... like a year or so ago when john garcia did a few kyuss songs with them... son of a .
I've never seen them before, but as I've stated before several times, I really don't like this new album of theirs, so that's why I'm really kind of down on going to the show. Hopefully the show will be a LOT better than I anticipate it being.
For the record, it's at an outdoor amphetheatre, and all the tickets out here were $39.50 plus all the (in)convenience charges. Eagles of Death Metal & The Duke Spirit are opening.
Guess we'll see what happens.
i didnt hate the new ablum... i prefer it over a lot of other stuff that's out there right now... i just feel it coulda been better if they had added some of the b sides and not dumbed down the drumming so much.
their live show is bad ass... since they play almost all their songs differently then how they are on an album.
ive been wanting to see eagles of death metal for a while too... jesse hughes was one of the reasons (behind the spurs) why i grew a mustache in the first place.
Between the wimpy drumming on the new album (which I like, but don't love) and the fact that The Foo Fighters have sucked their way into irrelevancy, I wish Dave Grohl would just give up on being a front man and officially join QotSA.
dave's stint with qotsa was like a fling .. a good , but he had to go back to his stable, yet mildly boring family.
Really? That's a sweet stache Jesse has. Now that I know he was your inspiration it looks less pervy.
Dave really should go back. I kind of hope this next FF album in September is the last one so he can go back to just drumming for people. Part of me wants it to be really good though. I read somewhere he is going to do half the drumming on the the new FF album, which he hasnt done since There is Nothing left to Lose. Their last good album.
Era Vulgaris starts off good, just like Lullabies to Paralyze, then mid-way through it kind of just goes to . Just like Lullabies to Paralyze.
I didn't see the Dallas date on their tour page, just the gig in Austin, which I want no part of.
jman3000 i want to meet you SOOOOO bad!!!
Only the gigs on the "duluth tour" are on the gigs page... they announced these other 2 HOB shows seperately.

Oh okay, seriously jman. If you're going to be around the HOB area you need to go to El Fenix for dinner. It's a historical Tex-Mex place that's pretty good. Don't getthe enchiladas though, they're bland as . The Westend one night (just to chill out). Check out Gators while you're there. The art district is pretty snazzy (and in the same area as the west end). The Aquarium is right around there as well. I never got a chance to do that either, but I've heard that's amazing as well and that's right around the corner. The Katy trail, around the American Airline Center 9if you can bear it) is close too. I've heard it;s a to walk, but some of my co-workers have done it. If you can find a bike that's another activity while you're there, waiting for the concert, etc. The route to see where Kennedy was shot is right around that area as well. I drive past it everyday to and from work. All these places you can take the DART (rapid transit) to and from. It's $2.50 for a day pass. If you haven't been on a train before it's pretty fun.
El Fenix is horrible. Don't listen to her. Frozen Patio Dinner's taste better.
You may be right. I didn't pay for it, though. The sign is cool, that's about it.
nobody answered my questions as to where all the easy skanks are.
we'll be staying with my friends sister... so hopefully i'll be staying with one.
corner of SMU BLVD and Airline. Book it. It'll be the start of the semester.
mapquest it for me?
will i have to flash cash? or will my wit and charm be enough?
