Is this supposed to be a question, or a statement? Also, I've never figured out how people forget their passwords, especially if it's some type of word/name and number combination.
the emergency boot cd disk will work to reset your vista password

To me, the best way to fix Vista is:
1. Pop in a Knoppix disk and reboot
2. fdisk /dev/hda <ENTER>
(replace all occurranes of hda with sda if you use a SATA hard drive instead of an IDE one)
3. d 1 <ENTER>
4. n <ENTER>
5. p <ENTER>
6. 1 <ENTER>
7. +500M <ENTER>
8. n <ENTER>
9. p <ENTER>
10. 2 <ENTER>
11. <ENTER>
12. a <ENTER>
13. 2 <ENTER>
14. w <ENTER>
15. q <ENTER>
16. /sbin/mkswap /dev/hda1
17. mke2fs -j /dev/hda2
18. shutdown -r now
19. Pop in Fedora 7 disk, and follow the simple instructions.
20. Problem solved.
No big deal on your home computer, but no one should secure their wireless LAN with a password like that.
best way to fix vista.....
uninstall it.
I have Vista, and always have the longing urge to take the laptop and toss it at a passing semi truck on I 10.
it is a customers computer not mine
I know my passwords
the emergency boot cd also containts hardrive test and other nice tools
computer techs would know that
I never tried it on vista because no one forgot their password yet
=This my be the smartest post Tpark has posted in months! Although it's not the notebooks fault it has Vista. I warned you asshats months before Vista was to be sold to the public.
Right now Apple is laughing their ass's off=![]()
There are many ways around all that password bull . I can post a few if you like=

I've never used passwords like that - I always randomly generate mine, using nothing that would equal a word in the dictionary, etc. etc.
I'm just saying, having word in tech support for some time, people set their passwords to the most stupid crap.
passwords are might to be hacked![]()
alt f4..... if that doesn't work, right click on your C: drive and select format
= ok take out your sharpie and take notes:
if a person has a Windows password and you can't get passed it?
Take out the HD and use it as a slave drive on another PC. You can access all the data you can also use this.....
If you want to get pass any DOS passwords (the one you are asked for before you can turn on your notebook/Desktop)?=

=Now for the CMOS DOS password. This is the one you need to even turn on the PC/Notepad
This one is very easy. Take out the memory. Then go get a paper clip and touch the chips you need to reset the Bios.
Remove the battery, add new memory place back the battery and boot up.=
