I'm starting this thread because Sanity hijacks other threads and turns them into Chargers talk anyway. , he started one about the Broncos and it ended up being a CHargers thread.
I'll start:
Phillip RIvers, while not a true sop re, will go through a sop re slump.
Ready..........Go.
If by some freak chance freezes over and Norv doesn't ruin the team, they'll be in the AFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl. That's a 13-3 team with a 4-12 coach.
Norv's never had this type of talent to coach. Belicheck never did anything good with the piss poor teams he was handed either.
Belichick got strong armed by the owner and GM in Cleveland. And he took a terrible team to the playoffs and got a win. He did good with what he had presented to him.
And he didn't completely fail in multiple stops.
Norv will be the death of 'em. A team like the Chargers is tailor made for a Parcells like disciplinarian to come in and win now, not a quiet pushover like Norvell Turner. Arrogance, a sense of en lement and a lack of poise are probably the Chargers biggest hurdles. Norv doesn't get them over the hurdle, he buries them farther beneath.
The Charger still suck. I actually shoot myself to get a ing R rating and the MPAA gives me this PG-13 because the US is numb to violence and my producer blows the head of the MPAA on a nightly basis.
Where's the thread of Fillmoe crying cause Norv Turner left the Niners?
Well its hard to say that SD sucks since it is really between them and Denver for the Divisional le. Oakland and KC are real weak this year IMO.
But that said both teams will win 10+ games and both make the playoffs. Shanny has had success in the playoffs and well Norv hasn't.
I don't think LT2 will put up the numbers he did last year and it will be interesting to see how Rivers handles the pressure on him. As I don't think he had a lot of pressure on him last season since most did not think he would do well.
The league will be in for a surprise when they have to see Michael Turner much more than they did last year.
Hey do you think the Chargers keep Turner next year? Would they put the tag on him?
Of course I am speaking for Fan Football. The only bad thing about Fan football is needing to see the Chargers score points againt my Broncos cause I have Rivers![]()
He's gone next year, guaranteed. He deserves a big pay day, the guy is a beast. I'll really miss him and will never forget his run against the Colts to seal the deal on ending their undefeated streak. I'd love for him to accept his role on an amazing team so the Chargers can continue to have the most feared 1/2 running back combo. This year should be fun with Norv at the helm offensively (for Charger fans at least) because I'm guessing we'll be seeing a lot of LT/Turner on the field at the same time.
Could the Chargers give MTurner some huge signing bonus to offset the relatively small max salary they can offer him after this season?
But it doesn't make sense cap wise to resign him when you have LT as your running back.
LT + Turner in at same time adds more weaponry.
LT and Turner in seperately gives LT rest, gives Turner more touches.
LT + Turner better then no Turner on team.
However do NFL teams have to stay under the cap?
Turner will command top dollar, and no way would the Chargers agree to pay him top dollar. Signing Turner would be a huge mistake as it would hamper them from signing other players that are key to a solid all around team. I'd love for Turner to take a pay cut because he likes his team, but when has that ever happened.
Yes they have a hard cap. But as Denver and SF have been busted for with creative accounting sometimes they may be able to go a little above it. but if the NFL catches it then you lose a draft pick.
I'd read that Denver was very creative in the way that they would restructure their existing contracts. Was not aware that was against the rules.
