Well, I remember the series Get Smart with Dan Adams as agent 86 and Barbara Feldon as Agent 99. I used to watch it as a kid. It lasted five seasons which was pretty good for only three networks.
The movie could become the best 2008 comedy if they get enough people aware of it.
They also tried a 1995 Get Smart with the same two lead charactors, but it only went seven episodes.
I used to love to watch Get Smart on Nick At Nite when I was a little kid... the movie'll probably be pretty funny, but they'll never be able to recreate the original Maxwell Smart. Don Adams was too unique and too perfect for that role.

I thought it was. But then I don't get Dane Cook, so my sense of humor may be a little off...
I think that Steve Carell is pretty funny, but I love the original series and would hate to have it ruined. I'll probably avoid this one.
Hollywood is officially out of original ideas.
