Burger king
A Californian man ate 103 burgers in just eight minutes to set a new world record.
Officials likened the achievement of Joey Chestnut, 23, to Roger Bannister breaking the four minute mile.
He smashed the previous record of 97 burgers to win the Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Championship.
Brad Wahl, Krystal's vice president of marketing, said: "We never thought we'd see someone anywhere near, let alone past the century mark when we started the Krystal Square Off in 2004.
"But like when Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile barrier more than 50 years ago, Joey Chestnut has set a new benchmark today for all moving forward."
The previous record was held by Japan's Takeru Kobayashi who won all three previous Krystal Hamburger Eating Championships, but did not compete this year after having a wisdom tooth extracted.
