I'm not really sure what type of law I will be practicing yet. I know a few things that I don't want to do, but there are a lot of different things that I think I would enjoy doing so right now I am leaving my options open for the most part while I see what kind of jobs are out there.

When do you take the bar?

I will be taking the bar exam July 24-26, 2007, and I will probably have the results some time in November. That's when last years July test takers got their results anyways.

Bar exam results are almost always released on the first Friday in November. It's a long, long wait, but the celebration afterwards is worthwhile.

Just remember -- 75% of all bar exam takers pass the test on the first try.

Unsolicited advice: take BarBri (or at least some review course), go to class every day, stay on top of the daily work that they give you, and take a night off on the 23rd of July to relax. The Bar is more a question of endurance than of knowledge, I think. It's all about whether you can stay focused for two 6 hour tests and 1 three hour test over those three days; if you can, you'll do fine.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement! I start BarBri today and will attend an Essay Advantage Workshop and the 3-day PMBR closer to time for the bar exam. I will keep your advice in mind as I prepare and when I go take the bar exam in July. Thanks again! It is so nice to get tips for the bar exam and encouragement from someone who has successfully gone through this process before me!
