Anyone in the IT field wants to know someone at Rackspace right about now.
Good luck getting in.

My nephew and his wife both worked there several years ago, but I don't know anyone who currently works for them.
I know someone who works there - actually, a couple of people. Like others have said, good luck getting in there ... though they might be hiring a lot more people once they take over Windsor Park mall.
My cousin worked there and was doing very well. She just got back a few months ago from Europe. She has no college education at all and was making major bucks but she got fired for having an affair with a co-worker and her husband went postal making threatening calls to the guy she had an affair with.
What a way to lose a great job. I do know you have to be young though. My cousins mother who has a stellar selling resume was turned down.
Good luck.
is that the name of the new online community of well endowed women?
That's what I call my bras.....rack space.
Doesn't matter what your resume is, or your age - I know quite a few older people who work there. What matters is that you're very team oriented, but can work on your own - you also need to be laid back, and then state that you want to take their Beerology course ...
And know what Fanatical Support is and being 'green' is major +++++.
My daughters ex-boyfriend worked there for three months doing phone support but they let him go after the three month probationary period. Of course, he is dumb as a ing brick.
TTIWWP.
Very true ... when I went through my interview, I really fudged up on a few things - talking badly about my current employeer and such. If I could go back, I'd do things a lot differently in that interview.
We just hired a guy away from Rackspace to my company. He is making $15,000 more per year with my company. So, the rumors about them paying extemely well are not true. Additionally, they don't offer a 401k and don't bring a lot to the table in regards to other benefits.
I do not know this firsthand, but I heard that they work hard and party hard. They allow employees to bring beer into the office on certain days!!!
No offense, but you should research something like that before you say it ...
http://www.rackspacecareers.com/index.php?page=benefits
Choice of 4 Medical Plans
Dental and Vision Plans
Life Insurance
401K
Paid Vacation and Holidays
Flexible Hours
Performance Bonuses
Rackspace University for Continuing Education and Training Classes
Free On-site Fitness Facility
Strengths-Based Hiring and Employee Development
Supportive Work Environment
Sorry, but that's badass - along with the fact that they are one of the top 10 companies in Texas to work for, and also the U.S..
And no beer days mentioned!![]()
All I know is that they told the guy that works with me that they don't have a 401k plan. Maybe he talked to the wrong person or did not even ask about it. If they don't have matching then it's not the same as what many other companies are offering. He made it sound as though they are more likely to give you a bonus and allow you to do whatever you want with your money. He said that they told him that they did research and that people just want money in their hand.
Yes I know someone who works there. One of my former managers works there currently. Good guy.
Did she FINALLY come to her senses???
Well, talking bad about your current employer or any previous employer is bad when interviewing with any company. Tsk tsk.
Seconded
Rackspace should hire Salma Hayek as a spokesperson.
Affirmative
