T-Mac's jumper was off. He wasn't hitting them.
I didn't see the game and I know that McGrady had a sub-par shooting night. Was Bowen's defense realy the reason? T-Mac usually has put up big numbers vs Bruce in the past and was expecting him to score more (as if things weren't bad enough).

Bowen did his job on T-Mac. Unfortunately it went for naunt with the loss. Those things do happen. Nice to see him hounding him all over the court. Already in mid-season form.
With the way Wells, Yao and James went wild, there wasn't much contribution needed from McGrady.
if the help defense is there, bowen's fine on TMac. Most of the games where TMac has played well with Bruce on him happened because of slow rotations.
Of course, there's the game in 2004 where he just went off in the last minute, but I doubt anybody in the history of the game could have handled him there.
bowen didn't do against McGrady. This was the 2nd nite of a b2b, he is en led to let his teammates help out.

Portland--tmac 20 pts, 2 days rest
Dallas--tmac 35 pts and 2 days rest
SA--tmac--12 pts, 2nd nite of a b2b
29 points per game, leading the league right now. Don't think scoring is an issue for tmac, oh except when he plays against bowen
His average was 33 pts before he played the b2b game with SA.
Off to his best start ever...opened the first 2 games averaging 39 ppg....
