Hopefully the same thing that happens to people who call him "Barroid."
1. Big dog n pony show trial. The evidence has an ink smudge on one of the 10,000 pages, therefore it's thrown out of court and Bonds walks. He and Al Sharpton claim they be persekuted and are on t.v. ad nauseum.
2. His indictment turns into a conviction. He does signifigant prison time. Cheating is exposed. Bonds says his head size doubling in growth is due to genes from his ancestors in the 15th century, The Big Head Tribe.
3. The case never reaches trial. MLB threatens to kill every potential juror and judge. Profits continue.
4. Slug Selig and Barroid embark on a cruise around the world. They are never heard from again.
5. A group calling themselves "The Gullible Sheep" continue to insist Bonds and other MLB players never did do steroids or any other juice type enhancers. They also shop for swamp land in Florida and used cars from the Katrina aftermath. Oh and FEMA trailers also.
6. other
Hopefully the same thing that happens to people who call him "Barroid."
damn, your favorite NFL team hires Norv Turner. i'll stay away then!
file under "other".
As in people who send in Blazes of money to Barroid for his defense fund.
Please find where I've defended Barry Bonds.
I just seriously tire of immature reference to sports. Come up with a solid argument and you don't need "Barroid," "_allas," "Sperms," etc.
This whole thing is a farce.
It's all bull .
How is a perjury trial bull ? The er lied while under oath. Maybe he should've admitted it like Giambi did and he could've avoided all this .
You know this isn't about perjury, just like tax evasion wasn't the real reason the Feds went after Al Capone.
You're a moron if you think otherwise.
This is about the precious HR record and the so-called sanc y of the league. Bonds is being used by the league as a scape goat for the steriod era. That's all this is.
Just watch him get away with everything.
That would be the funniest thing ever.
Bonds is being used as a scape goat and I hope they ram the charges up his arrogant ass.
You don't give a about baseball that's why you don't give a about the record. But how would you like it if some roided out er broke Emmitt's all time rushing record? You would be crying like a little with a bulging disc in his back, ing about how it's not fair.
If its all bull , what is the alternative? Prosecuting nobody? The Feds only indict those they can get. Bonds lied under oath, that is something they can get. If they can make a water-tight case against anyone else, you bet your ass they will.
Selig made this deal with the devil a decade ago. The game was in dire straits because of the 1994 strike, but then in '98 the fans started coming back because baseballs were flying out of ballparks. So what if Mark McGwire had to grow out his beard to cover the acne? The powers that be kept their mouths shut and counted the gate receipts.
Why the did the Feds get involved in the first place? Don't they have better to do other than go after baseball players? Nonsense!!!
Dude, that was low.
Anyway, I wouldn't give a about anyone breaking Emmitt's record. It's going to happen. These things don't last forever.
My point is this, how can you prove that the previous record holders did not cheat. Once again, baseball has a long standing tradition of cheating. Every team in ever decade has cheated in one form or another. Why is this so ing different.
Plus, there wasn't a steriod policy when Bonds and all the others (plenty of others) were using. So, in essence, they did nothing wrong. Not to mention that Selig and the rest of the MLB covered the steriod abuse.
So, like I said, this is all bull .
Okay.
He lied.
I'm not arguing that.
Everyone's talking about how great this is for baseball. What does baseball get out of this?? What if Bonds gives evidence about Club managers and owners covering up for players' steriod abuse??
Will you make a call for the downfall of MLB for lying to the public for all those years?
And yet he, and all the others involved, are acting all holier-than-thou about all this. That's what really pisses me off.
The upshot is that individual offensive records have lost most of their meaning in baseball. 61 and 755 were sacred. 73? It's maybe as important as Peyton Manning's 49 TD passes.
But as 73 is dirty, so are 70, 66, 65, 64, 63... The entire era is tainted. And with HGH still out there, if somebody else posts big numbers, there will always be doubt about their legitimacy. Are A-Rod's numbers legit? Does his brow protrude more than it used to?
So, Selig et al. maybe saved their game financially in the 1990's, but its lore is irretrievably diminished. In 5 to 10 years, people may follow A-Rod as he tries to break Bonds' career HR record, but the joy will be hollow.
Who is talking about how great this is for baseball? Most people are just happy because they personally despire Bonds, not because they think it means anything for the game itself in the grand scheme.
Umm... where did I say it was great for baseball? I said it would help as a deterrent. That is FARRRR from being "great." I think you embellish everything I say. Stick to the actual words.
Also, where is "everyone" who is talking about how great this is for baseball, as you claimed? Missrepresenting what I say is far from "everyone." That actually makes it no one.
So, are you denying that you said it would be good for baseball??
This isn't good for baseball. It's good for absolutely nobody.
Do you not realize there is a big difference between "good" and "great?" Stop changing what I ign said. It is good in that it shows that baseball is not turning a blind eye anymore. It's good that they aren't going to continue to ignore the situation because people like you think its bull . But it's not great. No, great would be cleaning up baseball altogether and I am afraid that may never happen.
You still have yet to produce evidence that "everyone" thinks its "great."
Jay Marrioti and the rest of the ATH crew. There are also countless sports columnists that also thing that all this is such a great thing.
Anyway, so baseball isn't turning a blind eye anymore?? Well, whose going to keep an eye on MLB to make sure they no longer cover up any of this ?
Like I said, baseball has a long standing tradition of cheating. It's never changed and it won't anytime soon. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just fooling himself . . . or, herself.
You are such an ass. I don't get why you have to come into these threads and pick on me. And actually, its not the picking that bothers me cus I am used to that, but its the fact that you lie about what I said and misinterpret everything.
Oh, and ATH is a peice of show. I can't believe you would take anyone's opinion on there seriously. Not a whole lot of people think its great for baseball. If anything, they think its great because they hate Barry the person, not Barry the player. You would know this if you followed the "boring" sport of baseball more.
That is just typical peewee.
