Gal proved she has the right stuff. What a finish.

I was pretty glad when I realized they didn't have closer video of this.
She seemed to cry a lot less than Theismann too. Finally a female athlete I can respect.
You've been doing it wrong.
/I'd respect her in the morning...
That is one tough little . Major props to her!
Yes. She deserve mucho respect..man she is SMOKING![]()
Damn...that girl is tough.to her.
Apart from the girl's amazing will-power and courage, one has to ask how a young athlete has such fragile, brittle bones.
Such bones should be dense and strong from the the stress of training, and flexible, flexing rather than cracking.
I'd like to know the health of her skeleton.
She could be on an "endocrine disruptor", aka birth control pill, have osteoporosis? Bad diet (her thinness and conditioning don't mean well-nourished) with insufficient calcium, deficient in Vit D3 (although sun exposure from running outdoors should be enough to produce sufficient D3 in her skin), boron, strontium; too much diet acidity (soft drinks, sugar, meats) causing leaching of calcium from her bones?
Whatever, quite a story and lady.
thats what i was thinking boutons. i mean she was running on a level plane and even if she hit a bump and stumbled or soemthing, thats nothing that should cause a break of her tibia AND fibula
holy crap!! that is one tough young woman! amazing
Who is that?
Allison Stokke
Allegedly it started with a stress fracture days or weeks prior, which propagated under continued exertion of the leg.
I don't think stress fractures are all that uncommon for runners.
Stress fractures are pretty common for anyone who regularly puts that much pressure on their legs. Big problem for dancers, too.
I like how all the other girls stopped to check on her - NOT!
I suspect she's not related to the Udrih family.
That's ballsy??
, the last thing an intelligent person would just ask for help. Why aggrevate an injury by crawling to the finish line of a race you clearly haven't won?
Anyway, I'm not a Redskin fan, but if any of you had an injury like Theisman did . . . there would be plenty of crying.

When Lawrence Taylor is freaking out, you know it's gotta be bad.
Compare the injuries.
Compare the people.
Joe Theismann was a professional, highly-trained, professional athlete.
Claire Markwardt is a amateur, high school athlete. She's also 17 or 18 years old.
What does age have to do with this?
It hurts less as you get older?
Theisman had a 250 lb man land on his femur.
Claire was just running.
Which would hurt more?
Plus, I didn't see her bone pop out of her skin.
